It’s so surreal to have discovered this band in high school when they had only released an EP, and had less than 100k monthly listeners. Not many artists have I seen grow and evolve like this one, and I’m so happy they are getting the recognition they deserve
I am obsessed with their ethereal, electronic sound that mixes indie pop/rock to create something that is truly unique in this album. My only disappointment is not hearing their beautiful voices on many tracks other than the ... read more
In their 8th studio album, Ball Park Music take a step back from their usual big ballads, to a softer, acoustic sound that echoes Sufjan Stevens and Bob Dylan.
It’s a beautiful album driven by love (hence the name), without the weird and wonderful lyricism we’ve seen on their past work. The first single ‘Like Love’ definitely set the tone for the full album. It’s simpler than past albums, but Sam’s lyrics and voice always melt my heart, particularly when ... read more
The album that really got me into Billie.
Favs: Happier than ever, getting older, your power
The 30th is criminally underrated and gut-wrenching. Definitely in my top 5 songs of Billie’s.
I am in love with Medium Build’s voice, and it really shines through on all three of these tracks. Perfect mix of indie folk and country for sad boy hours 😌
I wasn’t much of a fan of his first album, but he kinda slayed with this one. It actually crept up on me, I liked it enough on first listen but then forgot about it. I then returned to it months later and it suddenly hit different??
I was never a huge Sam Fender fan but absolutely loved the single, ‘People Watching’. As a result, I hung in there for the new album, but I think I’m just not quite there. Nothing really stood out to me except the beautiful last track. I can’t really criticize it as I think it’s fully me and my taste, Sam is so talented and I’m happy to see the album be so well received from his fans.
So glad I discovered this artist. Such intimate lyrics and raw emotion that’s perfectly expressed through his gravelly, southern voice which has so much range - from screaming ballads In my room, to softer, stripped back tracks like Hey Sandra and Say it Back.
Reminds me a lot of ROLE MODEL, which is actually how I discovered him when supporting Tucker on his Aus tour. Had the pleasure of seeing an intimate, small acoustic set from Medium Build before tour, and I fell in love ... read more
Finally gave it a listen from start to finish after liking some older Gracie songs, but as expected, it just didn’t hit for me. All the tracks kinda felt the same idk.
Such an iconic album that brought me a lot of comfort during the pandemic. I remember getting stoned and lying on the couch alone to listen to this for the first time. Surprisingly the album didn’t hit on the first listen, but quickly grew to be one of my favourites.
Fav tracks: Heat Waves, Space Ghost, Waterfalls
The album the made me a super fan in an instant. Easily in my top 10 of all time. Core memory is seeing them perform at Falls Festival during this album tour.
Fav tracks: almost all of them, but special shout to Youth, Take a Slice, and Agnes.
It pains me to say about one of my favourite artists of all time, but this was truly such a disappointing album.
The craziest thing is that almost every track starts out with huge potential - with that classic weird Glass Animals sound. The first single (creatures in heaven) was the prime example of what was to come - I was so excited when they teased the first 15 seconds, it sounded like some of their best work. But like almost every track on the album, the chorus completely ruined the ... read more
It can’t be easy to put out an album 20 years after your first. It’s rare to see a band release arguably their best work after so many years, but this album achieved everything and more. A familiar yet fresh sound that excited old fans and attracted a whole new generation.
Julian Casablancas is also still a quirky lil guy and we are grateful his goofy ass.
Fav tracks: Adults are Talking, Bad Decisions, Eternal Summer, why are sundays so depressing
This was definitely my gateway to the country/folk/red dirt/Americana genre. Every time I listen I get the urge to drop everything and go live in like Montana or something idk
P.S. Zach pls go to therapy before the next album
Fav tracks: Jake’s Piano, Overtime, Smaller Acts
