With a perfect nonlinear narrative, Kendrick Lamar unfolds his experiences in his native city of Compton and its harsh realities. The songs deal with issues such as economic problems, and gang violence, while analyzing their residual effects on individuals and families. Lamar's 2012 production transport you into his city, introducing a variety of characters and conflicts that contrast his homesickness and love for Compton.
DAMN has some of the best storytelling ever, yet it still feels overrated and chaotic. Despite being praised for its complexity and able to be played backwards, the album showcases Lamar's trademark versatility. Blending elements of Trap and Experimental sounds, resulting in a unique and often unpredictable listening experience.
With the dullness of Rick Rubin’s production, Toxicity is an incredible groundbreaking album that blends alternative metal and thrash. Balancing raw aggression with deep, thought-provoking themes, it became one of the defining albums of early 2000s metal.
Although CHROMAKOPIA is a great project, I feel that its concept and instrumentals are not as cohesive and exciting as those other projects he did. I really respect the fact that Tyler went personally and emotionally in this album.
