Overlooked H-Town classic. Despite messy mixing and some meh features, this is still a dope album that deserves mention when discussing Southern hip-hop’s history. R.I.P. Fat Pat
The album that definitely belongs to the better half of Nas’ discography. Nas’ weakest aspect, beat choice, is advanced here with great modern soundscapes from masterful beatsmith Hit-Boy, and his pen game is good as ever. One throwaway track (YKTV, which was dope until A Boogie With The Hoodie came out and ruined the whole song) doesn’t prevent this album from being a dope one filled with bangers.
