This is the best of the three singles so far no question, reminds me a lot of glimpse of us and once in a while, this might be one of his best performances ever
pixelated kisses was short but was still an enjoyable listen but this is just so insanely short, it ends before it has any time to do literally anything, like it sounds nice and has a sweet sort of lullaby sound but it's just such a confusing move to release your shortest song ever after a return track that was already one of your shortest, this has to be an interlude right? idk he's just confusing the hell out of me
Edit: This actually grew on me heavily, did not expect this to end ... read more
This project is very different to the past three albums and it accomplishes changing the pace very smoothly. It’s obviously a turning point in the band’s career and the release of a fourth studio album is the perfect time to do so. After the first three albums, it is ideal to change things up and show evolution in your career, and with their first album being a decade old now, it was the perfect time to really shake things up. This album is a lot less focused on indie rock songs, ... read more
laufey keeps her slow and soothing style while amping up production which makes this project feel like a major step forward, there are so many fun details in the production and tons of gorgeous piano and string arrangements, i love how the album simultaneously has relaxing summer vibes AND wintery fairytale vibes just like charm by clairo, speaking of queen it was a nice surprise to hear her on mr. eclectic, and the fact that the last track had straight up jumpscares that led to that burst of ... read more
a small collection of short fun bangers to vibe with, i do wish more risks were being taken to stand out since sir chloe often show amazing potential but don't quite fully recognise it. The first three tracks are easily the top 3 on the album and i was a little disappointed that the rest didn't quite live up to the strong beginning. However, this is overall a solid album that i enjoyed my time with and the hole is one of the best songs i've heard this year, phenomenal opener.
The first half is pretty polarizing ranging from messy and grating to really bouncy and fun. However, the second half is a lot slower with more ethereal vocals and production which i honestly enjoyed way more.
i can already tell this is going to be underrated as fuck but this is one of the most fun projects i've heard this year, it may not be as focused or large in scope as his previous works but it still has a strong character and the album shines with personality, it's just a short and sweet list of bangers to have fun with, genuinely one of my favorites from him lmao, the retro summer vibes are also such a treat.

I certainly appreciate a lot of what is being done here but there's definitely a lot more room for improvement. This album is incredibly short and didn't really feel like a complete piece of work. Trailers after dark is by far the best song on the album, it flows so well allowing you to float in the gentle melancholic vibe, the lyrics are great too, it's simple but touching. However, there are also moments like eat and you which were not good at all. A respectable debut that ... read more
Was not expecting this to be better than Nectar. The album is very short and most of the songs are very replayable so I'll definitely be listening to this more. Although the other two albums had higher highs with Gimme Love, Run, Glimpse Of Us and Die For You, BALLADS 1 proves itself with more consistent quality track to track and still does have amazing highlights. Slow Dancing In The Dark is considered the best track by miles and although I can admit it's probably the best track in ... read more
Pretty great album, really enjoyed a lot it had to offer. At no point did it have me bored which is one of the best things an album can do. Gimme Love and Run are two of Joji's best songs and they really carry the album on their shoulders. Mr. Hollywood and 777 are also bangers along with a few other good songs. However, this album does have a lot of duds in the middle which really holds it back.
Edit: On a second listen I found myself enjoying this album a lot more. Tracks like Daylight, ... read more
Gave this album a listen and thought it was boring at first but I don't know what I was on because this is fire!
I decided to give it a second chance due to how good the first track is and I'm glad I did.
Great debut album From Zeph, some absolute bangers and bops on here!

Not as bad as I expected but still not good. I was surprised there was actually a song I liked in this album to be fair, Verona was an out of nowhere gem. However, there's a few songs that are tacky trash.

Great debut from Mareux. I feel this album is going to need some re-plays for me to fully appreciate each track, which is fine for its short length.

How do you make Glimpse of Us and Die For You but still not have a great album on your hands.
Disc 1 explores the painful feelings of losing a romantic partner but doesn't accomplish it as well as it could have and does not have a satisfying conclusion at all.
Disc 2 feels like a bunch of tech demos detached from the rest of the tracks.
Why would he make 2 amazing songs focused on a relationship but then not bring it to a good conclusion and then throw a bunch of demos on the end that don't ... read more
The new tracks on this are amazing. Wallpaper is a really fun up-beat track that has the classic goofy Matt charm shining in it's chorus and outro. Wish I Didn't is an unexpected hard hitter with a chorus that hits close to home for me, some of Matt's best work.
On the other hand, I'm really not a fan of the new versions of Nokia and Margie tbh.
Best To Worst:
Wish I Didn't - 9/10
Wallpaper - 8/10
Nokia (Potsu Remix) - 5/10
Margie (Acoustic Version) - 5/10
Really rough around the edges for sure but I think it's great work for Matt's first project.
Best To Worst:

Margie - 8/10
Jello - 7/10
Feel This Way - 6/10
Come Over - 6/10
Sleep Tight - 5/10
Love this album, amazing improvement from OUCH! The whole project has such a good vibe to it and every track is memorable due to how much it varies. Despite a lot of the tracks being very different from one another it still feels like they all belong together. Work It Out is for sure Matt's best work so far, it's honestly incredible.
