Boards of Canada’s music has never really connected with me despite generally loving this genre of music, but this was really captivating! Might be the most I’ve enjoyed them on first listen?
Possibly one of the most annoying listening experiences of my life. Yeah sure take one of my all time favourite albums and randomly change lyrics around and overproduce the drums and make the vocals worse and swap out some of the best songs?? For what? Who asked for this?
Most frustrating album of the year so far. Gives off the vibe that Peggy would hate me for no reason.
Hm…thought I’d like this more based on how much I enjoyed his last album. It’s solid alt-country but at a certain point the songs just blend in to each other
The most I’ve ever liked a Genesis Owusu album! Just endlessly danceable, beautifully written, plays with genres in such natural and inventive ways
I was gonna make a joke like “boring Iceage strikes again with another 6/10 album” but I actually enjoyed the back half of this quite a bit!
Listened to Happy Audio half asleep on a train last week and felt like I was melting
God I’m so happy to say that this is the most I’ve enjoyed a Black Keys album in over a decade. We’re so back
I will always make time for Shabaka and it’s impressive the man played literally every instrument here, but only a handful of pieces really connected with me
I’m honestly super impressed by everything going on here, but it’s so maximalist that the experience definitely felt a bit grating. Nevertheless extremely happy albums like this are somehow hitting it mainstream
