Listening to this feels like witnessing the end of Pluggnb like its some sort of movie. This will be Lil Shine's last album for a while but he made sure to have a fire sendoff. This project has some of his best performances and production but the most important thing I got from this is that this is a really fun project to listen to, like this easily some of the most fun I had listening to album in a bit. This might be my new favorite Shine project
its 2:30AM and I sit and ponder to myself, is this one of the greatest pieces of work I have ever listened to?
Ensley genuinely has some of the most unique production out of any album in the lofi jazzy experimental hiphop scene. Its a very unique experience and listening to this can just get you immersed and get lost in the production. The feature list is amazing too, they all did great.
Mike and Earl going down the route of plugg/cloud adjacent production is honestly amazing. I've always wanted a full project like this from both artists, especially Earl since he has less music with him rapping over production like this. Mike and Earl sound completely natural on this, their slow melancholic flow just fits perfectly over production like this and I feel like I cant get enough.
Probably my favorite project that dropped on friday, and this might also be his best work yet. His projects were fun listens but theres a different energy that he brings here, better production, better vocals and overall just an amazing experience. Im glad smokedope continues the cloud rap sound as not many artists do it anymore, and he does an amazing job at pulling it off.
