I really love a decent chunk of this album but it’s far too inconsistent… for every What Is Left To Say there’s an Anakin Learns His Fate.
A relatively nice listen but you definitely start feeling the length after the seventh 5 minute song with similar instrumentation, songwriting, and vocals.
This would have been a relatively unremarkable Soul album if it came out in the late 60s and it certainly doesn’t get anymore remarkable being 60 years late.
I still had a decent time listening to this, it’s easy to listen to and enjoy but there is nothing creatively interesting about this album. I enjoyed this album but I’m a bit disappointed which is kind of my own doing. I had such high expectations for this album, hoping and predicting it would be his best work yet so I kind of set myself up for failure.
