Steve Taylor at his best, classic, but sounds incredibly fresh. Raw, but restrained. Solid rock album with just as well-written lyrics.
it's just so damn catchy and not boring like most pop hits in the past decade.

I was an "early" 21p fan. I recall downloading the 3-song EP on "freechristianmusicblog" and trying to get people to listen to Vessel. It blew my mind as a high schooler. Dun played briefly in another band I love, House of Heroes (check them out, they are underrated).
Blurryface came out during college and I wore it out. Played it in the car with my young siblings and wandered around campus and night blasting it.
Trench amazed me, I recall listening to it ... read more
This strikes me as kind of an odd single. I feel it may work well in context of a full album. I really dig the production.

An immersive experience that ebbs and flows, remaining interesting throughout and weaving a story through sounds instead of lyrics. The fact that it comes from the bedroom of a teenaged artist is just icing on the cake. Reminds me a lot of Ethel Cain's Preacher's Daughter, despite some major stylistic differences.
Top Two: Sinner, Storge

Why is this better than the actual album. Did someone drop the masters and get them mixed up?
Help us Max Martin, you're our only hope.

The rereleases have really highlighted how bland her current sound is. I think most of her writing is good, but the sludgy synthpop emphasizes the awkward and cringy moments. I honestly think either full-blown pop (1989), country-tinged (Red), or alt-folk (folklore) are all better directions. Fingers crossed she finds new producers for her next project.
EDIT: I'm convinced you could cut down from 31 songs to like 12 and have a much ... read more

I actually really dig this album. It's very low-key and summer-night vibes.
Top Two: Peace Signs, Apartment 413
★★½☆☆
I really want to like this album, but it is just so unmemorable to me. I've listened to it three times now, and I can't remember anything. There are certainly some beautiful moments, it's not bad, but being forgettable might be worse.
Top Two: Deeper Well, Moving Out
Switchfoot has a bad habit of keeping their best songs off albums and releasing them as b-sides. Some of these additional songs are stronger than a couple songs on the final album.
