There's an element of electricity in how MIKE utilizes subdued, repetitive rhyme schemes throughout this album. Everything about this album this album feels so dreamy, I sometimes forget it's all real and not a vivid hallucination onset by dehydration and sleep deprivation (but like, in a fun way, not in a miserable one). Making something cinematic doesn't make it good. "Deep themes" can only carry an album so far when it does little to separate itself from it's contemporaries or inspirations, I have no reason to return to this album over others that do similar things in terms of production and writing. This is no to say that it's bad, as I simply think that it's so boring I don't see any proper appeal outside of the appeal of it as a "breakout" album.

Animals is also a highlight, I know many of the bars on Eminem's part aren't exactly popular, I feel like it fits the speed and aggression of the track even if some of the bars could've been toned down. Lisa is also fairly decent, I like it's vibe and 6LACK is good as always, but it is a fair bit forgettable. The only real lowlight to me is Knew Better, it's extremely boring and Lil ... read more
