Yeat is back! Although he can't quite reach 2093 levels, he is still putting out quality even if his label REALLY doesn't want him to.
Track Reviews/Rankings:
Purpose General: 10/10
- Loving the production on this. Lots of depth in the mix
- This song is such a vibe omg
- Yeat his most intelligible since 2093
- The chorus is so powerful
Face the Flame: 7/10
- I like this barking thing he's got going on
- I hear the Future/Young Thug influence, and he's really ... read more
Though I was excited that Tyler ditched the overtheatrical aspect of his previous 3 albums, I think he set a very low bar with this one
Track Ratings:
1 Big Poe: 7/10
- The mixing on this one sucks, but I appreciate Tyler finally straying away from his overdramatic theatrical style to just attempt to put out good music. The features are fun and the lyrics are fun if you don't take them seriously
- Sounds like one of those character theme songs from Fortnite; some Gumbo or Pea Like ... read more
Yeah this is the one
By far their most grimy and evil album in a long long time (though to be fair it is their first album in a long time)
Just when a beat seems like it's getting tired (which most don't) it switches into a new one
Not in the mood for a full track review, but god this album is so refreshing, from the beats to the lyrics
Favorite Tracks: Pretty much all of them
Least Favorite: The Tyler Verse

This is culturally inappropriate
This album is definitely one of Wayne's most experimental. At times the result is a brand new creative form of matter, but sometimes those experiments fail to prove any hypothesis, or even worse they blow up the lab in its entirety.
Track Notes:
- King Carter is a pretty good intro but it reeks of the cliché Tyler the Creator ass melodrama
- Welcome to Tha Carter has a pretty interesting use of a soul sample. Sometimes it feels like Wayne's inflection doesn't really ... read more
Before continuing with the review, I would like to acknowledge that I believe every sound and phoneme was carefully and intentionally crafted the way they were; that is, I don't believe any of the outcomes of how this album sounds are accidental. This means that I can only critique this album in terms of my enjoyment and my opinion on Jane Remover's take on the genre in general.
Without burying any leads, let me say that the instrumentals are not necessarily unlike those which I have ... read more
Yet another year of me missing the Die Lit Carti
I will say, this album is a better showing of some of Carti's more recent features (a VERY low bar to surpass)
There are 30 songs on this thing. Remove the bottom half of songs in terms of enjoyment and it is still a bloated and bad album. I would have to repeat that process two or three times to get to around 4 or 5 songs which I would consider at least okay.
This album truly signifies quantity over quality like none other, only ... read more
This might be my most hot take I've ever had
I think 7 Nation Army, while overplayed is still a pretty good song
Other than that, I see the lack of bass and cringe lyrics to plague this album, and Jack White has only shown to improve himself on his solo works that there are better ways of making this.
Perhaps a remaster with more vibrant instrumentals will place it into its overall classic-deemed acclaims, but right now, I'm not seeing it.
Here, Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR have released their own Vultures, and let's hope there isn't a Vultures 2.
Drake is back with his first album after the beef with Kendrick. I am going in this with as little bias as I can, and while his reputation has plummeted, Drake's mediocrity seems to have been unphased by the beef.
CN TOWER: 5/10
- This one isn't too bad, though pretty empty
- There isn't too much progression in this, maybe besides the addition of snaps and bass ... read more
This director's cut is something else. The best tracks of the original version are still there, and there are even some great additions between original tracks that flow much better, whether that's the new intro or amazing songs like Cult Status which I believe to be the best and most refreshing addition to this album; it reminds me a lot of a sound off of Veteran, and it proves that JPEG can not only show versatility but also improvement on aspects of his older music. I love COKE OR ... read more
Way better than I expected this to be. Definitely an improvement in terms of album structure and song choice. Few flaws in terms of lyrics and vocals at points but overall pretty good
This is written during the first listen-through. No pauses. It should not be taken as a final opinion.
Track reviews and ratings:
wacced out murals: 9.5/10
- This is a great long song. Do I wish the instrumental was a bit more produced? Maybe. Gonna have to listen to it more. Either way, they let the amazing lyrics stand out.
squabble up: 8/10
- The beginning was a snippet on the Not Like Us music video. Loved it there, and I'm happy to say that I love it even more. The instrumental is ... read more
After hearing Noid, I was expecting a very conceptual and soft album. In most ways, that is what we got. However, this, like many projects of Tyler's inspirations and peers in the industry, is a great example of how to make a concept album in almost every way possible. This album consists of styles from soft, conceptual ballads to bangers, and that INCLUDES the inbetween as well. Another thing I would love to mention is how despite each being somewhat short, Tyler truly brought the best ... read more
Very consistent album, maybe a little bloated but most tracks bang, even if there isn't as much of a coherent theme as 2093
Edit: My initial hype got the best of me. I relistened to 2093 and remembered what this man is capable of. After doing that, I listened to this album again and it really just does not hit as hard. The tracks that I put before still apply, but as an album in terms of sequencing and variety, it just does not work. The features are pretty weak, and after a couple ... read more
Yeah, I mean it's like this album was made for me. Every track here is great, and I feel like the duo shows even more variety and nonconformity than their last album. My favorite aspects of this album are just how well the glitchy production fits the high-pitch vocals, especially when drowned in reverb and echo.
Least Favorite Track: She Looked Like Me!
Favorite Tracks: Literally every other track

SHOOTA: 9/10
- Love the instrumental. Tempo changes are awesome.
- Mixing could be better, but that's my only problem with this song
LIL JIT: 8/10
- Instrumental is fucking crazy.
- If the rapping and instrumental didn't fit as well as they do I would not like this song
- Kenny Mason sounds a bit rough at the beginning but he immediately changes to sound monstrous
MOOD SWINGS: 10/10
- Creepy ass instrumental
- Loving the flow on this track.
- ABSOLUTELY AMAZING HOOK

Writing this as I listen to it:
SLIDE - 8/10
- Nothing special, I love the pitch-down-shift after every 4 measures. It adds a sense of ominousness
- I actually love the beat. The song is a bit short though. Kanye was actually flowing well over the beat
TIME MOVING SLOW - 5/10
- At first I thought the beat was good, even though the piano sounds stock as fuck. In reality, this beat sounds too much like When I Met You in the Summer, and I hate that song.
- This song is so polarizing.

Short album so I'll do a track by track rating
1 Phat Butt - 3/10
interesting sound but feels off.
2 Oh Shhh... - 2/10
Not much new from spice, travis scott feature very loosely put together and unfinished
3 Popa - 2/10
Literally a nothing song. Yo Ice Spice has either got to increase the energy or ditch rage beats entirely. She sounds so bland over them
4 Bitch I'm Packin' - 3/10
Gunna feature was okay, had a decent energy. Spice again not really doing much
5 Plenty Sun - ... read more
Best part about this album is the momentum of each track and even the transitions between them leave no breathing space. That is until you get to COLE PIMP, where there is a small intro. I feel like in any other time, this song would have been good, but I am absolutely tired of hearing Ty Dolla Sign sing after Vultures. Good thing, WISHLIST and HIT THE FLOOR bring the momentum back and absolutely bangs.
<9/10
Solid album, divorce sucks.
Literally only here to write that I'm glad there is now more than one album which:
1. Has a track based on a sample of "She Calls Me Baby" by J. Kelly and...
2. Exactly two tracks later features Charlie Wilson.
(First King's Disease II and now WHY LAWD?)
