An album that is almost brilliant, but is kinda let down by track 10+11 which are incredibly forgetable if you ask me. Shangri-La is the Kinks 2nd greatest song after Waterloo Sunset if you ask me.
Some fantastic political commentary on this album
I'm the 250th review apparently, this is another solid release by the kinks, but a noticeable downgrade from their past few albums. The songs are not bad by any means but they are all quite slow and dull. (though I know thats to represent the realities of working class life).

A good chunk of the early songs on this album are pretty decent, but there are quite a few "joke" songs that just sound unpleasant to listen to rather than being funny.
That said, the album has a decent amount of enjoyable tracks and a good chunk of the vocals are pretty good. Particularly on Playboy which has some very good flow. But there are also a couple weak features that drag some of the tracks down.
