i wanted to see what the hype was surrounding this album, and yeah it’s pretty damn amazing. it really feels like every small detail in this thing was meticulously put together. i’m not a huge fan of noise rock but the noise rock elements of this album quickly grew on me and by the end of this i really grew to appreciate the fuzzier moments on the album. i found Map to be especially captivating in that regard. every idea phil presents just lands man idk what else to say
this album is just about perfect if you pretend swing on this doesnt exist
this song is fucking horrible. HOWEVER, i can not listen to this song without having the dumbest smile on my face. it’s SO funny
DAMN okay wow
never in my life did i think i would sit here and tell you TOP cooked but this song is good. what a fantastic hook
the boring instrumental and the rage inducing shrillness of the worst vocals you’ll ever hear combine to create a horrible song. adding the inescapability and mind blowing popularity of this song make it a quintessential 0/10. fuck this song and everybody involved in making it.
this album is near perfect, quadeca just didn’t stick the landing with cassini’s division, as the soundscape isn’t as interesting as a lot of other instrumentals and it drags a little bit. besides that, the production on this album transports me to another world and this album is so engaging, compelling, and emotional.
it’s like being at a middle school talent show and watching someone who thinks they’re killing it absolutely bomb. this song triggers legitimate panic in my chest it’s so physically repulsive. i guess he wanted the song to sound awkward so he got what he wanted?
the definitive chorus of all time
(this song sucks but it’s so entertaining. would recommend)
holy fucking shit this sucks. instrumental is very ahead of it’s time in a good way, but not even that can save this song
some tracks have a tendency to drag, but this album is beautiful, nostalgic, well produced, and encapsulates what makes midwest emo so interesting. there are songs with some gorgeous trumpet leads, the instrumentation is always stellar, and while the lyrics do get a little cheesy, they do their job.
this album is so interesting to me. it’s not alice in chains best work, not even close. it’s a bit of a mess, the production seems off, laynes voice is noticeably weaker, but the lyrical themes and crushing incite we get into laynes head makes this such a devastatingly beautiful listen
i had to listen to it twice to see if i was tripping abt how much i loved this. overall, this album was very colorful and unique, and dev showed a lot of growth on this. i wasn’t crazy about dizzy visions, but other than that, it flows pretty well!
