the three track run from chains and whips to so be it did not have to be that good. very fun raw album, super good verses from the features and pharrell man...... 🔥
amazing interweave between post and prog rock, this album is technical and unspokenly filled with so much narrative. the last song is a literal odyssey on its own, it builds and builds until you get enveloped in this cascade of crushing riffs and drums that goes on and on seemingly endless. just as good as Departure Songs, phenomenal.
the sounds and instrumentations on this will always echo in my head, every song has such a distinct sound. genre bending shit just purely enthralling, masterpiece.
from simbi to no thank you and now lotus. this album is fucking beautiful, it's introspective and raw, filled with so much personality. easily her best produced album thus far with some of the best tracks of the year in here. banger banger banger
Billy woods is such polarity to this genre and with the run of music he's having it easily puts his discography in the conversations of one the best of all time and this album cements his name even more.
This is horror on a level beyond Hiding Places, the lyricism is cutthroat, concise and as always abundant of meaning. Woods never shys away from topics that are generally avoided in the industry. Some of the stand alone songs include "Dislocated" which starts off with a ... read more
some amazing post rock with really good moments and crazy good riffs
this album is really so creative, thematically and conceptually. clipping outdid themselves, what a banger.
opium being overplayed to death made this feel like a huddle listening to, some very cool beats wasted tho
re review because my opinion on this has changed alot, this album is just as bleak as any other post rock album despite the post rock "sound" not being very prominent. his vocals literally pull heart strings especially on 'Easy way out' and 'I'll keep coming'.
this project is lush, it's emotional (very), perfectly written. must listen for everyone, rest in peace ryan.
unbelievable how consistent maruja are, i love the jazz implemented in this especially the final song. a full length album from them would actually be so peak.
