Can’t believe I didn’t find this earlier, this is all of my favourite things in one album; charming vocals, witty lyrics, clean production and great country instrumentals.
Album 1/500:
in 2024 I listened to 167 and this year I am going to attempt to listen to at least 500 starting off with albums from 2024 that I have missed. MGMT's album 'Loss of Life' is a cute psychedelic record from the Brooklyn Duo, that really brings MGMT back to its roots.
Completely overshadowed by wide awake but has some amazing moments
‘New Old Horse’ is a great debut album from Australian band ‘Twine’, its harsh and grungy in all the right places but as an experience there’s a lot to be desired.
Despite being a complete piece of shit, Serge Gainsbourg was definitely one of the greatest artists to come out of France. ‘Vu de L’exterieur’ has some amazing moments throughout but is kind of underwhelming as a project.
Half of the tracks on here are amazing, they’re incredibly vulnerable and beautiful but the rest just feel like throwaways and fillers.
I currently have streamed Ants From Up There for 7,400 minutes (just over 5 days), 2000 of those minutes have solely been Basketball Shoes and it is still one of the only songs that can make me cry. I don’t think a single piece of art has effected my world view like AFUT, this album has been with me through my last years of school and a downward mental spiral that caused me to drift away from my friends and family. I have had ROCKMAN in heavy rotation since its release so I’m really excited for what Mk.gee does next.
Arguably the greatest Christmas album of all time, had this on while putting up decorations and it’s completely amazing from front to back
Incredibly fun and energetic and that Mac Demarco feature was a great surprise
