Why are some of the best songs only on the Deluxe Version?

Surprisingly decent.

I actually like some songs on here (QB Blitz, Weekend Woman, Sweet Mary) but some truly awful songs reside on here as well (Beach Boys). The whole sterile pop production also lessens the enjoyment I get from the solid songs.
