I've only spun it once, but it is brilliant. He's the Brian Eno of now.
Good stuff, but they're going to be very big soon. Hopefully it won't be at the expense of the great music they've produced so far.
Still not liking anything by the Swans. I try and try to see what everyone likes, but can't find a thing.
The Limited Edition seals this album's long-term fate. One of the best stoner post rock Velvets/Sabbath albums. No wonder Cobain was such good friends with Dylan.
So hungry for some sharp riffs and just good boogie down rock. This does it. Sort of a mix of White Stripes and Blunderbuss.
Not sure what all the fuss is about on this one? I have all of Sun Kil Moon's past albums after hearing a few Modest Mouse covers. Bought this one on hype and thinking he'd done something different--just same old same old. Good, but not a top 10 album .
Great album with great influences. I hear Neu, Mazzy Star and Ryan Adams. Good stuff to have a blissed out day.
Incoherent and Alienated. Has anyone told John, had the balls to actually tell him that his music is getting worse and worse? Also, someone should remind him Jungle was cool in the mid-90's (when he was out of it) and was only used because Goldy was so high on coke at the time he didn't know. This guy is capable of so much more, but this is what you get from an isolated rock star-Garage Band like doodling that my 10 year old could create. PS--The singing is atrocious. He has a great ... read more
Best Stones album ever, yes, better than Exile. This was their peak.
Been listening to this lately after 20 something years. FK, it's good.
Small changes to what they have done in the past 15 years. Really boring. I've grown up with them and their best song since Release, IMHO, is Just Breathe.
Prefer the HDTracks release. Basically a copy of the original master.
This album has always been the best Nirvana LP, it's like Bleach and Nevermind put together. Not as glossy as Nevermind. Had Nevermind been produced like this In Utero, Nirvana would of barely touched a million albums sold and he'd be alive. This re-issue is so good. Dave Grohl's Marigold shows his potential to write catchy tunes. Surprised Kurt did't pursue this more, likely he got depressed at how quickly Dave wrote it.
