Dej Loaf & Jacquees - Fuck a Friend Zone
NR

Can’t comprehend the low ratings. I give it a 70 cause the instrumentals were absolutely superb but the vocals may have seemed a bit too forced in some songs . So in turn that dominated the background instrumentals and made the song seem overwhelming
. Hope I could explain that clear enough !!

SZA - SOS

When this album first got released I discovered Snooze and instantly fell in love . I thought this song might not become as popular but in fact it is loved worldwide! For the rest I can only say that I didn’t like them as much unfortunately but I like the long anticipated song Shirt as well as the classic Good Days! Good job SZA amazing

Tink - Winter’s Diary 4

Hi guys I love Tink so much her music is so serene it just incredible. My favourites are Lime Light, Your Side, All Falls Down and perhaps Surprizes . Quite romantic and sincere lyrics we love you tink

Slum Village - Trinity (Past, Present and Future)
72

Initially I only wanted to review the song Fall In Love just wanted to say that Samiyyah’s vocals were so beautiful and wholesome too she killed it when holding the notes! But for the rest of the album I am not so happy it just didn’t stand out to me in any way but it’s not a big deal

Slum Village - Selfish

J Hus - The 15th Day
NR

Hi guys,

I am a huge fan of his music especially because he has this certain uniqueness to him which makes his songs so authentic!
My favourites are I’m Coming, Dubai and Guns&Butter. But I’m going to be honest though there are way more songs that I really like!! Even the whole album you could say.
Can’t forget to mention Dem Boy Paigon which was his first breakout song which is also very good!! Also I think that Warm It Up sounds quite similar to Dem Boy Paigon..

The Weeknd - Beauty Behind The Madness
NR

Hi guys,
So honestly I don’t listen to him on a daily basis but my favs are Can’t Feel My Face and Tell My Friends. This album has got lots of classics anyway so it’s defo enjoyable!

Also, I absolutely LOVE the outro of The Hills where a woman’s sedate voice is singing in Amharic (she is saying I love you, my beautiful, my love) and you could interpret her words in hundreds of ways which is quite interesting considering the actual narrative behind the song. It just ... read more

Destiny's Child - Destiny Fulfilled
NR

Hi guys,

I don’t want be repetitive but I agree that the ratings here are a bit too low!

I think that especially because of the hits “Lose My Breath” and “Soldier” this album deserves a little more love. But for the rest, the songs are just as good for example “Girl” and “Through With Love” (this song kind of gives me Lose My Breath vibes too).

By the way I noticed that the songs on this album all go well together because they sound ... read more

Sonder - Into

Hi,
the intro song to this album (“Feel”) is just so pleasing to listen to. But generally I can say that all of the members worked really well and composed chill and mesmerising songs. The vocals here are so calming and this album is just perfect for when ya need to calm down from whatever’s on your mind.

Lauryn Hill - The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill
97

First of all, Ms. Lauryn Hill is not just an artist, she is an inspiration to young people struggling to see the light of hope in life and also she gives influential advice to her audience which I find very helpful and remarkable too.

So about the album I can just say: SHE DID WHAT SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO DO.
She did an amazing job on her album it’s so good that even people who may not listen to her music would instantly fall in love with her voice and beautiful instrumentals.

I like the ... read more

Rihanna - Music of the Sun
70

I didn’t know that album of hers wasn’t that liked…? Probably because people expect “American Pop” songs when they listen to Rihanna’s music, but personally I am in love with her reggae songs! I wish she would’ve continued doing more reggae songs as she could have for sure fused both genres into one song and bring a new perspective on Pop music. It would really suit her!

Nevertheless, the songs are enjoyable and a need for the summer ! They are ... read more

SL - Turbulence
NR

It just got released, but I already am a fan of this EP. Since I already like SL’s music especially his remarkable lyrical flow and amazing instrumentals, I am certain that this EP proved my points right. My favourite’s at the moment are “London” and “Prague” but I’m sure that I’ll like the others more over time!

Sade - Love Deluxe
91

Hi guys,
Sade is a real need for soul music lovers! This album is as it already indicates in the title: Deluxe.
It’s a one of a kind album with songs that make you enjoy the simplest things in life. It’s not too much happening, just a perfect balance of rejuvenating and soothing songs. Unforgettable legend!!

Jorja Smith - Lost & Found
80

Hi guys,
The narrative of Goodbyes is really saddening because I’m sure that at some point we will experience a loved one leaving for good knowing they deserved a proper farewell but it just didn’t happen because we humans are too occupied with ourselves and underestimate how fast time can go by..
It’s just sad because all the memories you have with them are basically being left open lacking this seal of wholeheartedness..
Also, I think Tomorrow is the mental and moral ... read more

J Hus - Big Conspiracy

I LOVE TRIUMPH!!! The line is “Finish them all, that’s what my auntie said” reminds me of this advice that your family always gives you about life and you always laugh it off then later realising that they were right lol

Moving forward, he is an exceptional artist from the UK and his work is different from the rest of the British hip hop scene.. he fuses multiple genres/styles in one song and finishes it off with laidback vocals.

Btw I am a fan of the instrumentals on Big ... read more

IAMDDB - Hoodrich Vol. 3

Favourite tracks: Trophy, More and Shade

Rayana Jay - Morning After
75

Rayana Jay is an underrated (imo) RnB artist with hidden gems such as this EP!
My favourite song is One More Time and Chill.
But I really like the instrumentals of Way Back and Cupcake!
Not really a fan of Magic tho:((

Kelela - Take Me Apart
88

Hi guys,
The fact that she’s Ethiopian makes me so proud but moving forward to the album, she did amazing work like the songs stay inside your head because of its distinguishing features such as the ethereal and calming vocal layering and the soft yet prominent instrumentals which compliment the notes. Listening to her music makes you feel so lightweight, it’s really remarkable.

My favourite is Bluff. It’s short yet so out of this world. I have rarely heard such an intense ... read more
