incredibly disappointing. album just feels like a huge bloated mess of muddy, washed out production and the same exact copy paste flow throughout the entire run time. there's still a few tracks i loved like burning hammer, pop this heat, war over land, and no strippers in heaven but those are pretty much it. this album just felt very... empty. very hollow.
pretty good but not his best work by any means. after 3 listens i just can't help but feel a little disappointed that a 5 year wait only led to a 37 minute track time. really really hope a deluxe is on the way because this album needs it. good flirts was honestly the biggest letdown for me as it probably ended up becoming my least favorite song on the album by far, which is crazy considering kendrick and keem's past 3 collaborations were all phenomenal in my eyes.
had a very mixed first listen, relistened twice today and it's skyrocketed for me. this album really feels like the testing rocky always wanted to make. there really isn't anything in hip-hop right now that's this unique. also holy god tier production. i seriously cannot stress enough how cool the production on this album is.
my favorite tracks were ROBBERY, WHISKEY (RELEASE ME), and STOLE YA FLOW. amazing album and anyone saying that this "wasn't worth the 8 ... read more
listened about 3 times now and let me preface by saying tame is easily my favorite artist of all time and i have every album of vinyl of his, currents is EASILY my favorite album of all time. loved the slow rush and it kinda defined the 2020's decade for me so far so safe to say i was extremely anticipating and was very excited for this album but man am i dissapointed
first 4 tracks are very VERY good (especially that opener holy) but the middle section of the album are pretty boring and ... read more
its genuinely baffling to me how quadeca went from beefing with fucking KSI and making low effort raps back in 2019 to now putting out this flawless, groundbreaking album.
probably the most ive ever seen an artist evolve. vanisher has been my most anticipated album of this year ever since the first single came out. and im absolutely floored at how good this shit is. it fucking flew past all my expectations and transported me to another world. this seriously might be quadeca's magnum ... read more
luxurious, full of bars and heavy lyricism, amazing production by the iconic pharrell, features were all phenomenal, especially kendrick lamar, tyler the creator, and nas. pusha t and malice sound like they're competing with each other with both delivering equally phenomenal verses throughout.
not to mention So Be It is my defining rap song of this decade, and in my opinion the best rap song of the decade aswell.
album of the year, easily.
woods has given us another special special album in his now all-timer discography, with one of the most claustrophobic and disturbing soundscapes ive heard in a while.
i give it 5 years before this is widely considered an underground all-time classic.
Its a new Carti album. its fire.
Its nothing revolutionary, its nothing to sit and deeply analyze. it probably wont be as influential as his last but what it is, is just fire music, sick bombastic production, and peak vibes. if you expected anything else from a playboi carti album thats on you!
some people will say its the greatest album of all time, some people are going to say its complete dogwater. thats just what happens after a FIVE year album wait. regardless i think its worth at least ... read more
There is nothing i can add in this review that can be said about this album that has not been said already 100 times over.
do not trust anyone who gives this album anything lower than a 9/10.
There is a very strong reason as to why this is probably one of if not the most highly praised album of all time, an absolute masterpiece in almost every single aspect that is to be considered.
some of the greatest rapping perfomances of all time over absolutely incredible production throughout an ... read more
Probably the most reliable rap album ever created. there probably isnt anything i can praise this album for that hasn't been said already
A Thought Provoking Masterclass in storytelling, such an absolute masterpiece front to back. Sing About Me, I'm Dying of Thirst might just be one of if not the greatest storytelling song in rap history. its at least top 5.
A Must listen album for not just hip hop fans, but for anyone who is a fan of great music.
This album is nothing to scoff at, for a debut album, i think it does a great job at showcasing kendrick's abilities as a rapper.
while it hasnt aged AS gracefully as his other masterpieces, its still a fantastic record, but its kind of a mixed bag for me
it has some of the greatest rap cuts ever made, and easily some of the weakest in kendricks discography.
Favorites: Poe Mans Dreams, A.D.H.D, Rigamortus, Kush & Corinthians, Ronald Reagan Era
Tyler delivers his greatest rapping performances in his whole career on this record. A beautiful 16 track run filled with hard hitting rap and RNB, infused all throughout with summer jazz funkiness.
the album for me that solidified tyler as one of the all time modern greats of hip-hop.
Tyler's most underrated album by far, it was essential to tyler's growth as an artist.
Deathcamp, Smuckers, Find your wings, okaga, ca, fucking young / perfect are all fantastic tracks.
An absolute masterclass of musical artistry and subtle storytelling throughout one of the tightest 39 minute track runs I've ever heard. a must hear album for any music fan.
Even if this is his 4th studio album, this is the most tyler has sounded HUNGRY, in my opinion. the most summer album that ever summered. So incredibly vibrant and lush, one of few albums that sounds EXACTLY like how the album cover looks.
tyler really showcases his artistry throughout this incredible 14 track run, whether its rapping, singing, producing, tyler showed he can do it all on this project, and it has aged BEAUTIFULLY.
