I thought this album was kinda jsut okay when I first heard it but it grew massively in repeated listens, singing really lets this thing down, and while disc 2 has strong individual songs, the songs being much sleepier than the first half doesn't compliment the listening experience at all. I do sometimes have gripes with this type of abstract hip hop, but this album steers clear of a lot of those common issues I face, such as pacing, poor execution, using the beat as the main appeal with half assed talk-rap, but this album actually feels like it has a vision. Literally a better, more complete, cohesive, better thought version of albums like Fall Off, Forever Story, 1999(Even if I like those albums a lot). Where's the love for this album that those albums get?
Rap discourse is dead nowadays. If it isn't faux lyrical, played out boom bap, jazz rap/abstract/drumless slop then it gets lower ratings.
