this album is everything i’ve been wanting to hear in music as of recently. the psych folk and dark ambient influences made this a beautiful atmospheric listen
A beautiful album that displays love perfectly, Double Fantasy is a bittersweet reflection on. everything John and Yoko had been through together, renewing their love just before John’s murder.
Is this album great? Not particularly. Does this album face too much backlash? Absolutely. This album isn’t supposed to be good, it’s supposed to be experimental, wandering into categories, that at this point in music, had not yet been explored. It’s ahead of it’s time without a doubt and it feels raw, despite how messy it is. So overall, this album isn’t something I’d really revisit but it’s still an appreciable body of art.
a HUGE letdown, especially with the dark, office-themed aesthetic, it’s the same bland synth-pop that taylor and jack explored on midnights and the 1989 vault tracks, giving us nothing new. the tracks are repetitive and forgettable and the lyrics are not “tortured” or “poetic” (unrelated to the album, but making accounts just to get this album a higher score is loser behavior)
pjs fifth album is a lustrous blend of alternative rock that has such great replay value that you wont listen to it just once
an admirably beautiful, sorrowful folk album that’s the closest thing to perfect. from cult classics like california and river to lesser known tracks like the last time i saw richard and this flight tonight, joni does not fail to deliver.
there’s not much to say about this album other than the fact that it’s perfect, it allowed all of the alternative girls today to truly shine. from beginning to end, the scene is set in the most magical way possible
my favorite album of all time without a doubt… from start to finish, this album sounds fresh upon every single listen. the production, lyricism and vocals are so beautiful and warm that it’s almost like you transcend to a new reality upon listening.
in my opinion this the best album of all time. the sprawling landscape allows for folk and jazz elements to effortlessly blend on every track in its own unique way. some of joni’s best highlights are on this album and everything from the album cover to the production is a 10.
