Probably the last Ice Cube project that I'll actually enjoy, that's unfortunate
Oldschool Cube is still present on this album, but you can feel some of the great elements fade away on this album, though the high points are really decent, the low points are simply bad.
The production is pretty decent there and there, but it can get repetitive sometimes.
Obviously, Ice Cube's skills are still there, just maybe he sounds slightly older than he did before. That buzz cut or whatever hairstyle it is really changed him.
Bop Gun being 11 minutes long was such a random realization, considering that it's Ice Cube and I wouldn't expect him to make such long songs, but whatever, there's a time for anything.
Ain't much else to say, I can feel less of his gangster persona on here, but it's still there sometimes, just less of it.
So yeah, Ice Cube's music is just getting worse down the line, but this album was still somewhat decent.
