I'd say this is the first time where the quality of Cube's music started to stagnate a bit. One could say it began at The Predator, as it isn't nearly as good as his first 2 classics, but that's still a great album with some of his all time best tracks. Cube was arguably the best rapper from 1988 to 1991. No rapper before him put out 4 great albums in a row in such a short period of time. When Common told Cube "Get some beats besides George Clinton to rock over" on The Bitch In Yoo, he was 150% talking about the 11 minute slug-walk of a track in Bop Gun (One Nation). It's also a pretty good review of this album, as the record falls off from the stellar 4-track run it starts with as soon as it comes on. When I Get To Heaven is a great album closer tho. Cube fans won't be too mad at this record, there's plenty to enjoy in the highlights.
I don't get why a lot of people say this album ended Cube's great album streak. It's definitely the weakest of his first four but it's still great. An 11 minute track being a banger is tough to accomplish but Cube did it.
