Sydney Ross Mitchell - Crawl

crawl has theeee chorus of the year and the instrumentation kills me i love the direction she's going in

Peter Peter - Heated Rivalry (Original Series Soundtrack)

It's just so good in context. I will admit that as an album in itself it's a little odd, but it works so well in the series. And I think it's really pleasant to put on and listen to. There's a couple of standout tracks (for me Rivalry and Two Souls are my favourite, though hats off to It's You, for obvious reasons) and just very good thematic moments that carry throughout. It's just so fitting and lovely to me. It communicates exactly what it needs to communicate ... read more

Went back and forth a bit on whether I liked this better than her previous EP or not, and the answer's not really, but I do think it's a step forward in her progression as an artist. She's trying a couple different things here, which I feel like further her artistry. The interlude was cute but ? in such a short album. She was just very expressive on this one, I think. Gorgeous melodies. And it is truly such an ingenious record. She started a lot of songs on the chorus, and she had a lot of changes mid song, but always complimentary to the track in its entirety. The recurrent character of the cats was so ... read more

Took my time with this one because I was on the fence about it. I did listen to it a lot when it first came out but it has faded into the back of my listens by now. It's just limp, you know? It has its moments. I think the instrumentation in coming up roses is incredibly lovely, and I like a lot of the production. I don't mind the vocals? But I was expecting nothing from him in first place and he gave me nothing, so like, equal exchange you know? I think when you get used to it, the ... read more
