The deluxe definitely made Valedictorian better, but there are still quite a few lackluster songs on here.
For me personally, I think this is Lone's best album. He stays consistent, but there are still standouts. Unlike most of his other projects, there are very few boring moments on here.
Favorites: FOREVER, LOVE HURTS, CADILLAC (#1), SYRUP SIPPIN, DOUBT IT, TAKE A TRIP, EXTRA HIGH, THRILL
Least favorite: N/A
I'm not big on Beno's vocal style mostly, but there are still some undeniably great songs from here, such as "2xTREME."
The problem with different artists being on the same album is that there is a serious quality difference between songs. For example, "Ball Alone" and "Know Me Now" (really great songs) compared to "PAMPER PAMPER" and "Wassup" (quite unenjoyable ones).
There are some moments that I found to be over-abrasive, such as on "WHATEVER I WANT," but grape milk is really starting to prove himself with SPARKY.
Unfortunately, the only song I really found enjoyable was Algorhythm. Not bad music, per se, but not great music either.
This is a pretty decent album. I'm glad that Balu Brigada is getting some extra attention from opening for twenty one pilots (which is how I discovered them). This isn't my favorite album ever, but they are definitely on the path to making great music.
I understand why I used to not like this, but now that I'm more experienced with Future's work, and rap in general, I'm able to fully enjoy We Don't Trust You. Some songs, such as "Claustrophobic" and "Seen It All" are still pretty boring and directionless to me, but this album is still loaded with plenty of bangers to counter for those. Metro is a producer I've called mid before, and he still isn't my favorite, but I understand why people like ... read more
You gonna Gen Z me bruh?
There are a couple of good songs but there are way too many bad lyrics and basic instrumentals for me to like this.
Pretty whatever for me. It doesn't really make me feel much after listening to it, but this also isn't my preferred genre.
My expectations were pretty high considering how much I've enjoyed Daeya's past works, but this ended up being my least favorite album of all time. It's just terrible to listen to, I don't really know how to elaborate.
Honestly, SURFING A TSUNAMI was the only song I truly enjoyed from this mixtape. While I typically enjoy Future's music, he sounded like he didn't really care throughout the majority of the songs, and he was just trying to get more music out. Especially for someone like Future, he should focus on quality over quantity.
I had decently high expectations going into this, but Dyatic absolutely blew me away. The way that he translates his style into a variety of styles, and manages to make the album this cohesive, including its detailed storyline, is something that needs to be studied by producers. This was my pick for the album of the year for a long time.
The thing that I love about Dark Times is how real every song is, but also how every single second has its purpose. Plus, Etouffee is one of the rap songs of the year for sure. Good shit Vince.
Where do I even start with this album. Every single song has something about it that isn't just interesting, but is genuinely great to listen to. For people looking for Don's rap style, you've got bangers like "VENUS," his pop-leaning songs like "BEST FRIEND ONLY," and even some songs that go way out of his comfort zone but are still executed to perfection, like "BURN THE CITY," which is a rock song that strikes up quite a lot of nostalgia in me.
