DC THE DON - My Own Worst Enemy
78

I don't care for some of the Donny songs in the beginning, but I enjoy pretty much all of the Rag3 Kidd songs. Just peak SoundCloud rap, and feels like a modern interpretation of Uzi's stuff. DC also started to distinguish himself with his own sound with this album, contrary to what I just said. This was just a super fun listen.

Favorites: Live From The Gutta (#1), REROUT3, i want you <3, iCarly :/, ILY, IMY :(
Least favorites: Diamonds & Rubies, RIRIS & KYLIES, MAKAVELI

DC THE DON - Come As You Are
60

Obviously this album isn’t perfect: it’s DC’s debut album, and he’s improved a lot since its release four years ago. I appreciate some of the rock infusion throughout the album, and a lot of his melodies are great too. However, he said three slurs throughout the album, his aggressive style was overkill in my opinion, and he nearly ripped off Lil Uzi Vert in quite a few songs. So, I didn’t hate this album, since it has some nice concepts, and a few really solid ... read more

Bladee - Cold Visions

Bladee - Cold Visions: 17/100 (198/199 album, 118/118 rap album)

I had heard about Drain Gang before, especially good things. Bladee was the artist I'd heard about the most, so I thought I'd give his most recent album a listen. He's been making music for quite a few years now, so I expected a display of unique underground talent. What I got was horrible lyricism (possibly due to English not being Bladee's first language), some off-key singing and awkward adlibs, Bladee ... read more

Everen Maxwell - When Dubs Cry
30

Pretty average dubstep album for the time. Everen has greatly improved since 2018, especially with his phenomenal Challenger EP.

Everen Maxwell - Challenger
84

While some sounds are overly distorted and disrupt the wintery atmosphere that Everen creates, there isn’t a single moment on this EP that wasn’t a fun listen. I especially appreciated the Hypepixel reference in Babeth, and the dedication made to Everen’s lost loved ones in Winter.

Favorites: Comafera, Challenger, Winter (favorite)
Least favorite: Back Up

brakence - hypochondriac
100

One of my friends mentioned this album as one of his favorites, and also possessing some similar qualities to Jane Remover’s “Frailty,” which I gave a 100/100. And, hypochondriac is pretty much level with Frailty in quality. This is honestly the perfect emopop/hyperpop album. brakence’s voice is very expressive, which helps emphasize his emotions, which is also why I like Playboi Carti’s music so much (however, his emotions are typically different). The production ... read more

glass beach - plastic death
81

"plastic death" is a huge improvement on the prior glass beach project, which I respect more than anything. Generally a really enjoyable listen.

samlrc - A Lonely Sinner
67

Not a bad album by any means, but I feel like some of the songs could have built their ideas much further, especially considering their lengths. Hopefully samlrc is able to refine their sound in future projects, but this is a very good start.

kurtains - florence fields
92

61 --> 92 (10/27/25)

Not sure what ear disease I had when I gave this album a slightly above average score. Every single song on here is flawless, it's just so damn short, no matter if it's a dance banger like tonight or a more emotional cut like gone fishing. As much as I stan sandy nevermore, this might just be better.

Favorite: make it real
Least favorite: night at work (if I had to choose one it would be this, it's still a phenomenal song)

Travis Scott - ASTROWORLD
87

A bit bloated, but there are so many songs on this album that became instant classics for me.

Favorites: R.I.P. SCREW, STOP TRYING TO BE GOD, SKELETONS, YOSEMITE, CAN'T SAY, COFFEE BEAN
Least favorite: NC-17

Hyperbeat - Forest Dweller EP
70

I'm trying not to be biased since this is literally my own release, but I'm so unbelievably proud of this EP. I feel like I've finally proven myself as a capable producer. While a couple of songs have some weak moments (the biggest one for me is the second drop of Sunrays having a lack of punch), it's countered for by Blossoming's atmosphere, Jungle Riddim's drops, Hope Seeker's outro, and Heading Home's general soundscape. Yeah, I'm just super ... read more

Rich Amiri - War Ready
99

I had pretty high expectations for this album, and those expectations were met, but not in the way that I expected. This album is full of some genuinely great lyrical quality, which isn’t what I would come to Rich Amiri for, usually. Also, this goes without saying, but this has some of the absolute best trap production I’ve ever heard, maybe not on the level of albums like UTOPIA, but comparable to A Great Chaos. Rich Amiri’s flow is also great, and fitting to their specific ... read more

RADMYST - you need this :)
86

I feel like, when RADMYST finally gets the love he deserves, this will be looked back upon as a classic project in Future Riddim. With his debut project, RADMYST showcases all aspects of his talent as a producer, from bangers like "ASVIETA," to the emotional piano melodies in "before i go," the latter being a collaboration with VYLUS, another up-and-coming producer. This project is a bit on the short side, so I don't have much to comment on, but if RADMYST continues on ... read more

Denzel Curry - KING OF THE MISCHIEVOUS SOUTH
88

This made me appreciate the original KOTMS2 mixtape a lot more, and I also enjoyed the five new songs a lot. Denzel keeps proving himself to be one of the best in the game currently.

Kendrick Lamar - GNX
77

This album isn't bad by any means, but coming from Kendrick, I can't say that I wasn't at least a bit disappointed. This album certainly has some great songs, but there are some moments on this album where I feel like Kendrick is just trying to match what made Not Like Us blow up so hard (TV OFF), which honestly feels like a sellout for me. I feel like once the surprise-release charm fades people are gonna see this as one of Kendrick's weakest projects, as this is just ... read more

Kenny Mason - Angel Eyes
91

So I had no idea that Kenny Mason was dropping today, let alone an ALBUM. Coming off his album "9" from earlier this year, I was very excited for this album, and my expectations were met, if not exceeded, which also made this a very satisfying 100th rap album to listen to. Angel Eyes serves as a perfect representation of Kenny Mason's talent: merging the modern Atlanta trap sound with deep lyricism, and also infusing rock and other genres from time to time. Not only that, but he ... read more

Westside Gunn - Still Praying [w/o DJ Drama]
32

While Westside Gunn has some nice flows and production on this album, that’s more or less every positive for me. I personally find his voice (especially his adlibs) to be quite annoying and strident to listen to, and there seems to be no regard for getting the true value out of each song, with instrumentals repeating for over a minute at times. Especially on such a short album, this left me feeling unsatisfied. I was surprised when I listened to this, just because of how much praise ... read more

Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk
83

Super nostalgic and fun listen. This isn't the style of music that I typically listen to, so this isn't going to be my absolute favorite album ever, but considering that, I was absolutely blown away. I can't wait to see what Magdalena Bay gives us in the future, as they're truly beginning to blossom as artists.

Lil Uzi Vert - Eternal Atake 2
27

Either Uzi got hacked, they got held at gunpoint and was told to make the worst music they possibly could, or I'm having a really bad nightmare. Because there is NO WAY they fell off THIS HARD. Every time I think it couldn't get any cornier, Uzi proceeds to rap about how they're Big Time Rush, how they "ain't fuck his bitch, uh, 'cause she stank," how "she's so freaky, she swallow my spit, she had me in a daze," or admitting "every time I ... read more

Cochise - WHY ALWAYS ME?
73

Honestly, if I'm looking for an album that sounds like this I'd probably go to BACK IN ACTION 4.0 by midwxst. However, WHY ALWAYS ME? isn't completely lacking. For example, GOOGLE ME is one of my favorite rap songs of the year, probably: that beat switch is insane and both halves are really solid by themselves. Plus, the production on this was great, and I feel like it showcases the reason why rage is my personal favorite rap subgenre, production wise. Especially since I'm a ... read more
