"i mean it's alright like... overrated as fuck"
im rather new to Chance, having never indulged in his catalogue and this album has given me mixed feelings. Tracks like the intro and the negro problem are amazing... whilst some other songs are... less so. i also find the Jay Electronica feature to ruin Just a Drop for me. Overall, i think Chance may have thrown a bit much at the wall here but what i like i like a lot.
the hate for doechii is literally just misogyny. every rapper had bad songs, every kendrick has a 'Bitch im in the clubbbbbbbbbbb', but she releases an old song her fans wanted released and she's somehow always been bad?! sybau. Aligator Bites was good, just bloated. and ffs, why are people complaining about this beat?! it's a laid-back song! go watch tiktoks with subway surfers clips at the bottom you trogolodite.
politically this sucks. ethically this sucks. it's liberal "progressive" garbage. but i actually kinda like parts it. it's like at it's best parts an 8/10 and at the worst 1/10. edit: i mean liberal as in the preformative progressivism of the democratic party.
Edit: This has only grown on me. Beautiful
Quadeca manages to somehow always impress me. After a few weeks with this project I say this; I prefer IDMTHY's cohesion. However this album's high notes dwarf IDMTHY's. Quad Did. 9.1/10
in my opinion this album is perfect for what it is. tyler delivers potent and fun braggadocia with hints at deeper hurt and emotions throughout. i have a feeling this album's user score may tank. but i'm with big poe here. this shit is hot.
most of this album is damn near delectable
the beats and rapping meld together like peanut butter and jelly
but, and this seems to just be me but
i really dislike 2 of pharell's 3 credited features rather strongly
i wish i could call this a 10/10
but this puppy's at best an 8/10

Very solid. I loved this beef. Day put a up a good fight but he dropped the ball imo. But this is a nice send-off. Now Nyck sick on Ray!
it definitely feels like a deluxe.
but in my opinion a lot of these additions (especially on side a) are only adding to the project's vibe. the album version of protect the cross is way better. i lay down my life for you and boy you should know is a crazy combo. allah is a great closing track. honestly for a deluxe i have no complaints. side b is worse but still gifts some great cuts.
favorites (new only): i lay down my life for you, protecting the cross, cult status, boy you should ... read more
