a suprisingly consistent and fun outing from yuno. i hope he follows this path.
gnx showcases the vigor of the post-drake beef kendrick lamar and post-top dawg kendrick lamar for the first time. he raps with a unique passion and swagger. he's been through his therapy and reflectance and now can be greater than ever. i think people were, much like myself, expecting an emotional journey like mr. morale and damn. but instead he leans into the culture of hip-hop in both his love and critisism for it. kendrick has evolved yet again.
this is the first ever album to make me cry and the first album i had to listen to twice, back to back. that says enough, honestly.
kendrick is looking at all of his flaws and calluses and showing them to us to unify us in this pain we've all felt in some form.
i can't put it into words right now, so i may return to this review at a later date.
father time, rich spirit, purple hearts, we cry together, crown, auntie diaries, mother i sober, and mirror are all masterpieces in their ... read more
probably my favorite freddie project now, it isnt perfect, and underuses it's core concept, but song for song it blends freddies classic flow style (which i've always liked) with production that suits my tastes very consistently.
i had to wait until i was in right headspace to listen to this project, which i am now. and boy is it good. honestly i enjoyed this so much i migh rethink my previous denzel ratings. but for now i'll say this; the bangers are on point. denzel keeps a self-aware comedy to the whole project and as a whole its just amazing. super hyped for the deluxe!
i enjoyed this project but it really felt super bloated. like this could've easily been like 10-12 tracks. it drags bad. but even the fat is somewhat enjoyable. it's good as a whole.
oh holy hell. this album is everything i wanted and a sticky bonus on top. i've been having a really rough few weeks with school and personal life, particuarly in their conflict with one another so this is what i needed. tyler somehow managed to blow be the fuck away. the central plot of the baby situation was hella unexpected but man, it delivered. the sexy redd feature was actually good too! the more i sit with the project, i promise, i'll start to love it more and more. everything ... read more
this album feels like that meme of dr strange touching the butterfly and flying off into the dimensional stratophere. this album is very pretty and ethereal and overall is a beacon of beautiful modern musical styles and production. both bladee and ecco did amazingly on this project.
i didn't mean to haunt you is like a cold hug. it feels warm and cold at the same time. it's like drifting out at the ocean with occasional thunder striking in the distance and visages of horrors passing you by. quadeca has managed to create a beautiful, catchty, and soulful modern masterpiece here. i've never felt so cold and helpless yet so happy. i can't believe how good this is. perfect.
who would've though a dude called bada$$ would make such a good romantic and pretty song. based.
