The first minute feels so promising and then it just. Doesn’t do anything else.
TRYING ON SHOES. ENOUGH SAID.
Honestly though I get why most of these would not have made sense on the standard version but I am so glad we finally got anything but love on streaming and the production and overall direction of these songs is impeccable.
Best: TRYING ON SHOES, TIT FOR TAT, NOBODY'S GIRL
I can't say I understood what was going on but whatever my ears did pick up was PRISTINE. Probably the most immediately striking song I've heard all year and my only complaint is that the different sections feel kind of awkwardly stitched together rather than one congruent song.
I've heard this song before and I'll hear someone make something nearly identical soon I'm sure but its still a very good pop song and would be doing crazy numbers if this wasn't a post-143 world.
Call me crazy, crucify me, whatever you want but this is Tate McRae for Charli XCX fans in the BEST way. Superscar has one of the most infectious melodies I've heard in ages, MachineGirl's vocal production is perfection, and Homewrecked is just a perfect pop song. Just such a confident, catchy, well curated EP with no dead spots.
Best: SuperScar, MachineGirl, Homewrecked

Spotify recommended Pussy Palace to me and i thought it was an absolute banger so I was very excited to give this project a listen, and while it was pretty good, it just felt like something was missing on quite a few tracks. The first and final thirds generally failed to really captivate me HOWEVER the middle of this album is absolutely fantastic and kept me from losing interest. Overall not a bad project but it left me wanting a little bit more.

Not every song is my absolute favourite, however this entire record feels so purposeful and the highlights are spread through the entire tracklist so its easy to stay engaged anyways. The lyricism is especially standout, specifically on Buckle and One of the Greats, and I loveee the production choices on Sympathy Magic and Kraken. Overall a great, cohesive, cathartic record that did not disappoint.

Her best since hbhbhb, the instrumental sounds so full and she sounds SO GOOD.
Am I even listening to the same album as you people??
Like yes the lyrics are NOT her best in spots and ik everyone here adores Charli but actually romantic is ACTUALLY a good song once you get past the fact that she's talking shit about your high and mighty queen. The Fate of Ophelia is gonna dominate radio and the Sabrina collab is not gonna be far behind, Cancelled has a really great vibe and 11/12 songs here all have something that'll keep me coming back.

The talent has always been there but I feel like this is the first time we've seen this girl release music with a real vision and focus and it has really really really paid off.
Best: Midnight Sun, Blue Moon, Eurosummer, Hot & Sexy, Saturn's Return

SCTW deluxe incoming FOR SURE. This is in the same lane as bloodonmyhands combined with Like I Do in a really interesting way but it's not much of an evolution in her sound so if this is a lead single I'll be kinda disappointed
This is the best debut album I've heard since Lorde's Pure Heroine, full stop. This album is just brimming with songs that would be number one instantly if someone more mainstream had released them, Gracie Abrams literally prays to write even one song anywhere close to 90% of this tracklist. There is the occasional miss later in the tracklist which is the ONLY thing holding this back from a 100 but 12/14 songs are easy 9/10's or more.

This really feels like they took what people liked off TMM, combined it with what they did on the acoustic version of inertia, and just ran with it. It honestly works really well and despite being a tinyyyy bit concerned by the snippets of the big goodbye it works really well within the song.
Best: a dog song, the big goodbye

It took 30 minutes of boring 4-5/10 slop to find literally a single song with replay value. If she doesn’t find a new direction for her next release I fear she’s gonna fizzle the same way Katy Perry did after prism
Best: house tour
Worst: nobody’s son, manchild, never getting laid, sugar talking
