An hour of beautiful, almost perfect raps with stellar production from the Surfgang collective.
I feel like this album got a pretty bad rep because of how much Jack Harlow fetishizes this idea of being black by.. basically stealing from their culture, but outside of that the music ain’t too bad.
Unreal how good this project is. In a world where the underground rap scene has gotten so unbelievably bloated with flow stealing disguised as homage, Tinkle really blazes his own path.
As much as I initially felt anxious about a non-conceptual Tyler album, this is a big breath of fresh air for Tyler, not being constrained by a storyline really feels like it let his creative juices flow, especially in a genre he hasn’t designated a whole album to yet. This whole album is just really fun.
If anything is to be taken from this, short rollouts and fun albums should be the norm.
Just when we thought he was gone, Giveon comes back and slaps you in the FACE with 14 of the most beautifully crafted songs you’ve heard in a while. I honestly dare to say there isn’t a single skip (including the interlude) on this album.
