Amazing album for a mid movie. I love how she used so many electronic sounds, but mixed it with classical instruments. The soundscape is beautifully anachronistic.
The album also captures the mix of heartbreak, love, and kinky eroticism that the film portrayed, particularly on the tracks "Dying for You", "Always Everywhere", "Chains of Love", "Out of Myself", and "Altars". It feels like the story of someone who was extremely submissive to their ... read more
The thematic and lyrical content of this album feel bland, uninspired, and trite. Even down to the title, "everything means nothing", it feels like something a middle school girl going through her first breakup would caption an Insta post. I did still find most of these songs catchy, though, so I liked it overall. My favorite tracks were actually the ones that have the lowest scores: "if I were u" and "i feel 2 much".

if you find me on my hands and knees begging my ex to get back together, im blaming this album
Now make a song about the 2 democrat lawmakers that were assassinated earlier this year, dipshit.
Destiny Fulfilled tells a sweet story about finding love, losing it, not wanting it anymore, and then finding it again.
9th's production on this is so heavenly. I do kind of wish he switched things up a bit more though towards the later parts of the album.
The first 7 or so songs felt orgasmic but I was kinda over it by then, and then the second-half felt like post-nut clarity (with the exception of "revisited"). I felt like the album had cool ideas but it just went on too long with only a vague thematic focus. The lyrical ideas got repetitive. Still liked a lot of the songs though, and I loved the sound of the album.
Also, the album art is very cute, I love it.
Thanks @BigTStreaming for the rec! <3
Not as lyrically focused as his last few albums, but the production is amazing as usual.
What a gorgeous album to start 2025 with. The cover art drew me in, and the music did not disappoint.
All 3 of the songs (I'm not including the Emerald Eyes radio edit as part of my rating) had such good progression. Not a boring moment on this thing. The album seems to have quite eclectic influences, so I'm not surprised that lua is an AOTY user lol. The artists merge dreamier sounds with noisier elements in a very pleasing way.
The spoken samples (at least, I think they were ... read more
The lyricism and storytelling on this album are beautiful.. Songs like Imaan, which is about the complexities and heartbreak of navigating forbidden love, is Mustafa at his best. The lyricism is thoughtful and the production is immaculate.
The album only ever really hits one emotional note though (as beautiful as this one note sounds). The production, while pretty and intricate, gets repetitive. I was kind of over it by the end. I wish there were more moments that shook things up a bit, like ... read more
Very pretty sounding album with touching and clever lyricism on top of it. Feels cozy yet grand. I sometimes get bored with "softer" sounding albums, but Hayley manages to merge softness and intensity in a way that's super captivating.
The album is bloated and some of the songs feel unfocused, but the production and rapping save it. Should have been trimmed down, but still an enjoyable experimental hip hop release.
A bit too Tumblr for me at times, but I enjoyed it. I adore how expressive and theatric her singing is.
This whole album is Gracie Abrams trying to be Taylor Swift, except for that one song where she tries to be Lorde. I did not like it.
The wicked witch of the west makes some fire Christmas music. I especially enjoyed "The Twelve Gays of Christmas". It was super chaotic and completely out of left field in a good way.
My Favorite Things/Carol of the Bells was my other fave song. Sounded so pretty and magical.
Enjoyable album overall. Slay 🛷
-20 cuz Kevin G made love to my woman on the bathroom floor
Found this girl through an Insta reel she posted featuring her song "P.A.B". I loved it, so I decided to check out her EP, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. The songs here, though not super fleshed out, are still a lot of fun.
Didn't really care for the sped up version of PEPSI COLA though, since it barely changed anything and was mixed quieter than the og for some reason. The slowed + reverbed version of the song and the edit of DOLLIE switched up the vibe and they were fun ... read more
Some of the lyricism got pretty repetitive, but I really liked the production. The songs were bouncing with energy and had a ton of switch ups to keep things interesting. And the transitions between some of these songs were masterfully smooth. This album is Beyoncé celebrating herself, her money, her sexuality, and her body, and it's a lot of fun.
I feel like a big reason this album became the poster child of noise music is because the cover wiggles. There's much more interesting noise music out there though, even just within Merzbow's discography.
