This is not a perfect album, but it is MY perfect album. And that is for one reason: Marjorie.
As a loud and proud Swiftie my whole life, it really breaks my heart to be witnessing her musical downfall. I wanted to love this album so much, but the writing is derivative and cringe, and the vocals are way too loud and completely overpower some genuinely catchy melodies. Taylor's songwriting prowess has always been a result of her relatability, but this album comes off as wildly out-of-touch and even arrogant.
A redeeming moment on this album, however, is Ruin the Friendship. This is ... read more
I just don't think she'll ever do anything better than this album.
An era-defining work in its truest form. The epitome of lyricism. The album I will keep returning to throughout my life.
THIS is her legacy.
"I'd swing with you for the fences, sit with you in the trenches
Give you my wild, give you a child
Give you the silence that only comes when two people understand each other,
Family that I chose, now that I see your brother as my brother
Is it enough?"
This album makes me sob my eyes out. This is the album I return to every time I'm faced with grief. Please play this at my funeral.
Some of the most fun I've had with a genre-blending album in a while! Fantastic sound, brilliant production, very of the moment.
An ode to nostalgia, technology, and identity, with some of the catchiest tracks I've heard in EDM. The mix is insanely cohesive, with each track seamlessly blending into the next. Nina's lyrics are resonant and emotional, with some tracks even bringing me to tears (I see you iPod Touch!). I am so proud to be an Aussie if this is what the future of our music looks like. NINAJIRACHI WORLD DOMINATION!
An absolute knockout of an album, solidifying April as the one to beat in the hyper-pop genre. No one is doing concept albums (WITH ARGS!!!!!) like her.
My favourite album.
Andy Shauf's The Party blends simple yet heartbreaking instrumentals with some of the best lyricism to grace the indie genre. This album is a generational masterclass in songwriting which both stands alone in its own right and combines into a narrative fuelled by cigarette smoke and nostalgia. A perfect winter album for the yearners stood in the corner watching the dance-floor.
I could not rave more about this album if I tried. Lest I melt into the floor, I will ... read more
This is, by far, my AOTY. An absolutely phenomenal record with absolutely unparalleled storytelling. I have literally never heard something quite like this album, it is novel and genre-defining. The lyricism! The orchestration! I am absolutely floored! This has been all I've thought about for three weeks. A deeply necessary listen. I cannot wait to return to this album throughout my life.
In the words of Sun, SLAY BITCH SLAYYYYYYYYY!

adéla has solidified her place as more than just a girl who "doesn't work well in groups"—she is fuelled by starpower and some of the sexiest hyper-pop of the genre. a breakout so unbelievable, you cannot believe it was her first.
