jaco's bass playing on some of the songs on here go under the radar too much. far too overlooked by Herbie and Jaco fans alike
so funky. I reckon this is one of the more accessible routes into jazz for any who aren't into the genre yet
beautiful poetry, and a matchingly chilling atmosphere. Even if you don't understand a word of French, the experience of listening to this album should still be memorable
stunning, such a compositional maturity from early BCNR while holding onto the DIY feel that give them appeal when I first started falling in love with them and the wider windmill scene
wasn't initially a fan of the mixing but it is a very solid debut. After being onboard from the serious early days it somewhat felt like it didn't live up to expectation as most of the material had already been heard. really really nice stuff here though
so groovy, some really unique but fitting instrumental work on display here
one of my favourite albums ever, it sounds like it's from the future, and has maybe the most infectious drumming and grooving I've heard
my gateway into the music of Brazil. If you are reading this, let it be a gateway into the best genre :)
eargasm. some of the most direct and emotionally compelling piano you will hear. Takes on other songs that blow the originals out of the water
can't get enough of his guitar playing. and what a voice!
