Holy shit this album is just an hour and a half of straight heat 🔥 Also what is going on with the streaming versions of this mixtape? On yt music there's 29 songs, 4 missing from the original album and the rest are part of another mixtape or something. On the apple music and spotify versions there's only 14 songs, I'm so confused. Found the songs that weren't on the yt music version and listened to them, honestly they're not as crazy as the base songs but the ... read more
The real experimental rap, this album is crazy man, I might need a relisten but I'm genuinely at a loss for words. I've never really delved into peggy's stuff as Devon before except for ghost pop like a year and a half ago. So this was kind of a breath of fresh air from all the stuff he's doing now and damn was it strange hearing peggy rap over cloud rap beats, lowk felt surreal.
Idk man, nothing burger with an extra side of nothing, served on an empty bun. idk if you wanted to express dementia sing a song about it idk. Learn to play guitar or an instrument or something idk.
Thanks for the rec @LinkyDinky, not too big on the vocals but the production was pretty good
Didn't realize this was recorded in 78' actually made this a more interesting experience.
Not quite too sure how to feel about this album, it's doing so much, and so much constantly. And well it does work to help build this amazing gloomy metal atmosphere, for an hour, and a more out of the ordinary (or for what I'm used to) metal buildup it can tend to fall off me a bit. I didn't feel too hooked into this album, rather like I was just going along on for the ride (the haunted train ride through a forest full of evil deer)
Put off listening to this for awhile and for whatever reason was in the mood to listen to some post-rock so decided to finally give a listen. I don't know why I didn't listen earlier especially considering how good I thought their most recent album was. But anyways, with only 4 tracks, this album stretches it out to a whopping 57 minutes, and not at all does it feel bloated, I had a really fun time listening to this, I really was brought into this album and it's atmosphere.
It's not bad it's just some alright tracks, that sound more like b-sides to something rather than it's own thing really. Hoping this is an indicator we're getting some new Freddie soon, might be a stretch tho idk.
Kinda mediocre, this album as a whole feels so wannabe, pretty unmemorable and godamn is that autotune annoying.
Some of the songs in the first half really blew me away with some of their best parts. Ultimately I do think it got weaker the further it went along, it was a great listen.
Nothing that really blew me away here, but it was a pretty enjoyable listen, honestly the 37 minutes kinda flew by.
Don't see or listen to much hypnagogic pop albums but the ones I have listened to such as volcanic bird enemy or any George Clanton have been really good. I found this one to be quite boring, although the story was quite interesting.
I was attempting to listen to nostolgia ultra, and let me tell you all the places I had to go to trying to even look for that. Well I couldn't find anything really so I decided to just listen to this one. And idk Something bout Frank's music genuinely just leaves me with nothing... I mean pyramids is pretty good, I like monks, and crack rock, but a lot of these songs could put me to sleep, and a lot of them did.
Wicked album, I can only imagine this getting better on relisten with all the details and crazy shit here
