Camellia Ft. Hatsune Miku - Insomnia C(o)urse
Genre: Vocaloid Drum & Bass, Electro House, Electro Swing
As his first Miku album since Stance On Wave back in 2013 it's really awesome getting to see him pay a little tribute to his roots. Not that he's ever fully left Vocaloid, but its definitely taken a backseat in terms for the past decade.
I remembered seeing some people compare this to REX, and although I understand that ... read more
Massive New Krew - INFINITE
Genre: Jcore (Hardstyle)
As the first solo MNK album after 4 years, I had admittedly mixed expectations. For a while I wasn't even sure this was coming out since they took so long to announce it.
What we got was a pretty decent collection of music that improves upon some of the flaws of OVERHEAT, although it doesn't really reach the same heights as some previous albums.
Like most of Tano*c Super Release, there's a somewhat rushed aspect to this album, ... read more
DJ Noriken - マジカルガール・シンドローム (Magical Girl Syndrome)
Genre: Jcore (Mákina, Melodic Hardcore)
DJ Noriken doesn't have the best modern discography, his previous 3-4 albums have all been mindless anthems & this one was part of tano*c super release, so I had pretty mild expectations for this.
Admittedly, I did not enjoy it very much on my first listen. I wasn't paying all that much attention but I remembered moments of his typical anthemic sound ... read more
Gram - The Reqiuem
Genre: Jcore (Psytrance, Gothic Hardcore)
As the first album of the Gram project, I think its pretty decent. There are definitelt some rough edges to it but it's got a pretty diverse tracklist & a consistient identity to make all these tracks feel a little more cohesive
The mixing is pretty dreadful honestly, Genki isn't the best at mixing already, but a lot of tracks on here suffer from just being way too noisy & improperly balanced to even be enjoyed ... read more
DJ Genki - Resonance
Genre: Jcore (Happy Hardcore)
Tano*c super release AND a DJ Genki album? My expectations were truly at rock bottom.
Thankfully though, this album actually reassured that there is some hope for Genki after all, and successfully redefines his style as a happy hardcore producer.
Where Lunavision proved that he is definitely capable of some bangers, it was a very different album for him and essentially abandoned the whole "Genki"(happy) aspect of his branding. This ... read more
