This entire project sounds like it belongs on The Voidz; Good, but lacking substance.
A short and sweet EP that went under the radar for me! While brief, Future Present Past's unique instrumental is nostalgic and harks back to their earlier works, but still manages to capture a sense of experimentation the band seemed to be heading towards into their next major release.
While I feel the short length hinders this project, this excelled as a much-needed appeaser for fans enduring a ... read more
Incredibly solid and consistent throughout its rather long tracklist.
I truly believe this is Julian's most catchy project yet! Every song is so groovy and full of color, much of it reflects the album cover. Remnants of Tyranny still remain, however here; they feel much more realized with a new coat of paint that fits with its surroundings, rather than a picture that's slightly tilted.
If only they could've kept this going forward into their next album...

Sucked it and saw disappointment.
This is by far the weakest album I've heard from Arctic Monkeys so far. This is not a bad album for the record, I think it's okay at best. However, this record definitely lacks something compared to its predecessors. A lot of songs don't captivate me in the same way the previous three albums did.
It's a very mixed bag, but I don't really see a track here I would skip besides, "Brick by Brick"

Criminally underrated album, I absolutely adore this album for its sound! Yeah, you could argue about the production, but I think the experimentation and what they pull off here brings everything back. They really weren't afraid to take risks on this album and it's apparent; 80's Comedown Machine and Call it Fate, Call it Karma stick out like a sore thumb in a good way, I'm surprised these tracks somehow went under the radar!
The album as a whole feels very diverse, with ... read more
The dark and heavy, yet occasional chill sound of this album does Arctic Monkeys wonders!
I got so invested I ended up looping the entire thing twice, and got halfway through the third listen when my headphones ran out of juice. Some of their best songs I will gladly argue are on this record alone, with 'Secret Door', 'Dance Little Liar' and the ending to 'The Jeweller's Hand', which is a fantastic closer may I add!

I've NEVER heard any music that sounds like this before, and I want to hear more of it!
I'll be honest, I haven't listened to Black Midi, so I don't know if this sound is typical, but it's definitely new to me! Definitely brings a sense of curiosity and makes me want to check out the band. There is so much to unpack, I don't even know where to begin with this sexy-jazz music >.>
Almost every song here is just so well-crafted, from start to finish, this ... read more
How do you release two albums in a single year and STILL manage to make both of them sound amazing in their own right?
I'll be honest, their singles got me a little nervous, a lot of them felt boring or just sounded abnormal, but I was still ready to head into it with an open mind. That's when I suddenly started listening to each song more and more, and my opinions dramatically shifted quickly before the official release. Talk about a slow burner!
As it stands so far, I do think ... read more
Album of the year, easily, but it didn't start out that way.
I always have a fascinating relationship with any song featuring Radiohead/The Smile, where on a first listen I can understand the groove of a song, but not necessarily enjoy it to its fullest extent. After a few listens, I usually grasp everything and start to enjoy the albums way more as a result. Wall of Eyes is no exception, however, this album is just so DAMN good.
From how relatable the song Wall of Eyes is, to the ... read more
I thought it was just okay. There are plenty of ideas here that are simply butchered with baffling decisions, even before the album's release this thing was a mess. The AI generated cover is just another slap in the face.
I ended up listening to their debut album, Tyranny, to see if this band just wasn't my thing. That's how I got my expectations blown out of the park, but I'll save that for another discussion >.>
Would I revisit it ever again? Maybe a song or two, ... read more
One of the FIRST albums I was ever excited for once I started delving into music seriously, and this did not disappoint! While I think it can be a little all over the place, no matter where this album takes you, you'll be bopping your head with how damn energetic it is. I cannot recommend this one enough.
