Remember Monday - What The Hell Just Happened?
95

Idc what everyone says, this is great. Gives great musical vibes, wonderful compilation of different genres and reminds me a lot of Last Dinner Party! And ofc, their vocal harmonies slay as well. This is def a top 5 for me atm, but I'm afraid that Europe will underrate it af

The Weeknd - Dancing In The Flames
60

It's so dull, repetitive and predictable, such a letdown from him.

Porter Robinson - SMILE! :D
64

Easily the most overrated record of 2024. The main problem with it is its incosistency. While its highs are so strong and enjoyable, the album gets buries under its lows; too many long verses that are sometimes so boring to listen to. They sound like filler, like Porter only seemed to invest in the chorus itself. It's like this album was made by BoyWithUke yet if the same record was under his name, I'm one million per cent sure that the AOTY community would totally bury it. Also ... read more

i never thought katy perry would be imitating gayle smh

Glass Animals - I Love You So F***ing Much
75

I don't know what you're saying but this is a really solid album. Its great production and instrumental variety are surely some things to highlight. Apart from that, while Dave's vocals continue to sound versatile and multi-dimensional, they might be slightly akward when he's trying to hit higher notes, like in the track "A Tear In Space". Overall I must admit that with "I Love You So F***ing Much" Glass Animals might rarely make an attempt to step out of ... read more

Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly

(two disclaimers before i start:
1. this is going to be a pretty controversial review
2. as i mentioned in my profile, im not a native english speaker so since this is a really big review, expect some grammatical mistakes)

Here we go...the apparent best album of all time. But does it really deserve this achievement? In my honest opinion I'd say no. It's undoubtedly a great album and you barely can find any other record that comes near it. But with that being said, it's still ... read more

Coldplay - Kaleidoscope

This would literally be the perfect EP if there wasn't that crappy Something Like This remix-live version or whatever. Not only it's promoted falsely cause this definitely isn't a remix but it's so out of place it's illogical.

Other than that, the three dream pop songs are one better than another. And I can say for sure that AICTAIS is my favourite song of Coldplay ever. As for Miracles...well it's there ig.

Coldplay wannabe Radiohead attempt went so well that they even put serious competition to Thom Yorke with this EP!!
(wish they followed that direction more over the next few years ngl)

Katy Perry - WOMAN'S WORLD
49

The mv is ass, the lyrics are ass, the fake-feminism message is ass, the incident behind Dr. Luke is ass.

BUT I can see some cheap enjoyment out of it. I must admit the chorus is catchy enough to grab my attention.

Y'all are so invested in the background of this song. Just do me a favour and separate the art from the artist. Thus, Katy has worked with Luke in the past for a big part of her total discography so that means they have past experience and a bond of trust with each other. And ... read more

Cat Burns - early twenties
70

First of all, I need to clear out something. I want to give Cat a big hug. She seems like the loveliest and warmest person ever.

As for the album itself, I must say it's unfortunately not that flawless. She might be a better storyteller than musician. On the one hand, you have heartfelt and honest lyrics in which Cat confesses her emotions and her insecurities in a sincere and believable way. You can't help but appreciate her for it. On the other hand though, I admit that ... read more

Tones And I of electropop

But if you want a serious review, I'd say this is the most flaccid, uninspiring and amateurish piece of electropop I've listened to in a while. Choose UR Fighter was kinda nice though, if it wasn't in this EP, the score would be around 10's

FAV SONG: Choose UR Fighter
WORST SONG: this yesterday's shit (laughably bad)

Kasabian - Happenings
85

It might not be the old Kasabian we know and we loved but I'm definitely down for their change of pace! "Happenings" is a really fun album with strong and enjoyable summer vibes, incredibly rich instrumentation and solid production. Every song is catchy in its own way and offers a delightful, dynamic and rewarding final verse. I would prefer if the songs lasted a bit longer though because as it is it's kind of forgettable from a first listen. In addition, Tom's voice ... read more

Tones And I - Dance With Me

She's sacrificing her charismatic high-pitched voice for decent instrumentation. Surely it sounds better than her previous discography but she's not quite there yet.

Jax - Dear Joe,
57

This might be the most ridiculous user score for an album in the whole website. Like surely, its definately not the best thing ever but A FREAKING 7? That's insane.

To be honest, before listening to this album, I had not a single idea who Jax was. When I came across this album on AOTY and saw that user score I supposed there was a background behind her or she did something bad and stuff. Either way, I wasn't bothered enough to check out if this was the case, I'd just separate ... read more

London Grammar - Into Gold

Single of year and you won't change my mind.

Imagine Dragons - LOOM
67

I'm shocked, this is actually not that bad! Since it's much shorter than their other albums, it feels more sincere and less commercial and that always is a plus. I agree that it's hella overproduced BUT I actually can see a vision and some creativity going on, something that I hardly spotted in their after-Origins era. But unsurprisingly, the lyrics stay bland and uninspiring while Dan's vocal performance is not up there at times. I think the score might be too harsh on ... read more

One of the best indie records i've listened to in a while. Production doesnt miss and Hana's voice is so flexible and incredibly satisfying to listen to. Album of the year contender and I'm not even joking

Hobo Johnson - The Fall of Hobo Johnson
78

A really captivating and satisfying listen. Frank showcases an admirable level of uniqueness, spontaneity and creativity, turning all the aspects that would make a song unlikable (voice cracks for example) and making them his own adding at the same time a rare charm to both his vocal ability and his lyrics. It's a real shame that this album is the only example of his forward - thinking artistic persona and his songwriting skills.
