I've been noticing that everyone likes the first half of Hissing Fauna more than the second half. I simply don't get it: both are good! This song is a good example of that. It's energetic, badass, and one hell of a ride! This is one of the best songs of all time. Why? It's honestly hard to put it into words. Before this, of Montreal didn't make 12 minute long epics. ("The Hopeless Opus" doesn't count because it's just a piano ballad.) As much as I admire old of Montreal, they really hit their stride on Satanic Panic in the Attic, where they started to form an identity rather than being just a Beatles-inspired band. It's not my favorite from Skeletal Lamping, but "Id Engager" is still an awesome ending to that album. Funk driven, glamorous, and sexy. All the things that make of Montreal great, and they're all in this one song! Love this album, and love this song!
