amazing. such a gorgeous, haunting, consistent sound. while some of the individual songs don’t quite live up to my favorites off eusexua, i believe afterglow is stronger as a whole. i only regret sleeping on fka twigs this long!
changed my life in a real, actual, describable way.
this is my least favorite taylor album. it makes me really sad to say that, but it’s true. it’s strange how there are 6 songs on this album that are close to perfect, and 6 other songs that are truly some of the worst i’ve heard from taylor. overall this album is nowhere near as bad as the taylor-obsessed hater freaks say it is, but it’s still not great. while i greatly enjoy the fate of ophelia, elizabeth taylor, opalite, father figure, ruin the friendship, and wood, i ... read more
so so incredible. a wonderful follow-up to preacher’s daughter, though it took me some time to make peace with the fact that it is not quite on the same level as its predecessor. that being said, this is a fantastic album. i love that the sound of perverts is present in so many of these songs. nettles and fuck me eyes absolutely blew me away, with nettles quickly becoming my favorite on the album. while the rest of the album might have a few dull moments, for the most part it’s all ... read more
taylor’s best album and one of the greatest albums of all time. forever and always.
this album reminds me of gracie abrams’s in the sense that most of the songs are boring and all sound like each other. HOWEVER, there are a couple songs here that i genuinely love and remind me what i love about sabrina; when did you get hot, nobody’s son, goodbye, and my absolute favorite, HOUSE TOUR, are fantastic. i usually forget how not good the rest of this album is when i listen to those songs.
a good but not great album. the four songs that blew me away are aquamarine, in the rain, fame is a gun, and diet pepsi, with aquamarine remaining the best song on the album and one of my personal favorite songs of recent times. proud of addison for completely changing her image around and doing it well. would like to see more variety in her sound next time and more depth to her lyrics BUT a very fun project overall. and shoutout to the ALL FEMALE PRODUCING TEAM 👏. an incredible achievement.
unbelievably boring. the only songs i like are that’s so true, us, risk, close to you, and tough love. everything else is just an absolute snooze fest. basic poppy guitar instrumentals and basic “i’m sad about a boy” lyrics on EVERY SINGLE TRACK make this completely forgettable. gracie has potential. i like her voice, and that’s so true and us are really actually incredible. she just needs to stop being a taylor wannabe and bring something fresh and worth listening ... read more
absolutely infectious with a wonderful edge. what a talent, and i can’t wait to see what she does next. team cece hits every time.
absolutely beautiful and so well done. it’s nothing like preacher’s daughter, and i don’t see myself listening to it again and again, but what an experience to listen to it the first time. scary and peaceful and haunting and melancholic. i love the philosophical/religious/spiritual subject matter and the merging between noise and music. the common theme of “perversion,” in this album meaning using sex in place of love while desperately wanting the real thing as ... read more
pure brilliance!!! no one is doing it like the brobecks did. this album got me through the fires. literally.
