BROCKHAMPTON - GINGER

Ginger is by far brockhamptons most cohesive and concise album to date. That being said, it is also their most emotional. the boys have been through a lot in the past couple of years, and I see this album as a reflection on what they have been through. I think this album is very important to Brockhampton, and I think it does a good job of displaying their current mental state.
Stylistically this album is a bit of a shift. Instead of a mainly hardcore experimental hip hop album, Brockhampton has chosen to go down more a Neo-soul route. I think this works mostly in their favor as the production on this album specifically sounds pretty great. And the songwriting and performances on songs like SUGAR, LOVE ME FOR LIFE, and especially DEARLY DEPARTED are some of brockhamptons best ever.
If you are looking for some hardcore bangers you aren't going to find them here. And while that may be disappointing for some Brockhampton fans, I am very satisfied with what we got from Ginger and I think it is very meaningful and important.
