Death Grips? More like Alive Grab

Not a fan of Poppy, by all means, but ill try my best not to have negative bias towards this album.
Starting off really great. Church Outfit is a great Industrial track with a little bland but overall great production and vocals. Even lyrics are not trash. But further in the record you start to understand - its nothing special. It lacks basic mixing where beats should change on bridges, pre-choruses and choruses. Yet they dont. On most of the songs beats are just looped for all of the parts, only sometimes adding overloaded synths on beat drops (hard to call it a beat drop lol). Some of the songs never actually get a beat drop, which is kinda essential for the ganre she is venturing this time (What it Becomes, Linger), so its just looped beats with her vocals that dont change.

Listening to this record it fails in one signature thing for every album - keep its listener interested troughout WHOLE record. After first 3 songs, it just feels the same. Same boring beats and vocals. Oh yes, her vocals! The problem with them is that they dont match the production, the beat type. On first 2 tracks her voice is distorted (maybe even way too much but eh), just like it should have been i guess. Yet after those 2 tracks shes back to melodic singing over death grips type beats (with a little difference - death grips is better). However, on the last 3 tracks the beats slightly change and they start to sound more like club music, and her voice perfectly matches it (The Attic, Motorbike). But after that comes ''Prove It'' and.. What the fuck is this song.

My main complain is that this album does not match the ganre she is singing in 7 out of 10 times. The sound drastically changes way too often. From heavy industrial beats to metal guitars to club mixes to acoustic guitars. Its a mess. Even spotify cant decide whether to put her songs in Club mix or in Industrial mix lol.
This album is just okay.
