Album of the Week 5/6/26
Out of all the 1D guys Niall has stuck to that sound the most. And that’s not a bad thing at all. As someone who loves Heartbreak Weather but found The Show to me a disappointment I found this to be a step forward again. Another week another scroll through the homepage to find an album. Kim Petras sounds great here. Not a huge fan , previous stuff I had heard just didn’t hit for me but reading up it seems she has had some label issues and based off this album I’m not surprised. Third week in the row I’ve just picked one of the highest rated albums that released today and I’ve discovered a great one in Radiohead’s Ed O Brien. An Artist Retrospective- The Cure Album 4: Pornography (1982)
Four albums in and this sounds strange but this is the most Cure sounding album so far, what I mean by that is this is the sound I associate the Cure with the most. It is dark and emotional. As with last week I just decided to find a random album, I had not heard of this artist before but I didn't fancy one of the three Drake albums. I found a different hip-hop album to fill the Drake hole and I am glad I stumbled upon this because I found it very interesting. It is not a traditional hip-hop album it is a lot more varied in genres there is some punk stuff on here and I liked the political stuff I found it fascinating.
