so i hadn't actually listened to this album since mid-2021. my friend archie picked it for me to listen to today, and oh my god. first of all, jesus i forgot how good this actually is. second of all, i *understand* it so much more now, as i've learnt so much more about music since 2021. god bless.

hey, it's been a while. love the post-rock verging into math rock. instrumentation generally is strong throughout but i hate hate HATE some of the lyricism, and unfortunately none of the lyrics really spring out as strong to me. sorry!

ugh what a delight! so much fun yet so much heart throughout. really really special ep.

greep is master at this shit. unfortunately though, i do think holy, holy stands out BY FAR. still an utterly insane record though.

stunning album throughout. always my first pick when i want to show someone japanese shoegaze. so beautifully melodic all throughout. not a single track that lags behind.

pretty damn long as everyone else has mentioned, but a delight throughout with some real standouts. very easy to get lost in the music, and i think that's wonderful.

fairly generic-sounding for charli, but still a crowd-pleaser nonetheless!

wow. i love when you can tell just how much passion and SOUL went into a release. intensely energetic yet anxious throughout.

pretty phenomenal throughout. they've embedded a really hypnotic aspect to this, which is just addictive.

what an album. phenomenal throughout, and brings the best of japanese and uk shoegaze ideas together.

definitely on the weaker half of their discography, and it ends in a pretty lacklustre way. though overall, it's still easy to make me enjoy anything hypnagogic.

really solid metalgaze throughout! definitely leaning more toward metal, but not a bad thing in the slightest. excited to see this band grow & develop!

in all honesty i couldn't really care much for the lyrics & the story, but i did very much enjoy the rough-around-the-edges sentiment embedded throughout the instrumentation!

standout track: actor doctor

so my problem is that i heard this song live before i heard the release, and it's so much better live. this is to say, if the release was closer to the live version, i'd easily add on five more points, which is a lot considering how good of a song this is already.

this album is incredibly nostalgic for me and thinking about 2017/2018, and i'm delighted to say it still holds up beautifully. definitely theatre kid music, but the best characteristics of it!

weaker than i expected tbh! that said, still a strong ep that creates some beautiful sounds in my ears. just missing that extra something...

oh this was delightful!!!! really solid throughout, and extremely beautiful at points. the production in ANVIL and Pictures was so unbelievably strong.

i'm excited to see what comes next, as i think there's some good ideas there, but they need fermenting and maturing. i also feel the perspective is a little unfocused in places, almost trying to do too much with too little expertise.
