Danny reflects on his ups and downs through an electro pop soundscape that’s filled to the brim with personality.
Pair some incredible rapping alongside some of the best hip-hop production and you get one of the best vibes in a rap album.
Individually the songs are great. Altogether I feel like the album overstays it’s welcome.
Face to face with death, David Bowie creates his swan song. Confronting his own mortality, he creates a personal yet artistically sound album that ends up being both profound and thoughtful, leaving behind a remarkable legacy and undeniable impact on music.
Second half was pretty good while the first wasn’t interesting.
Starts off so strong but then tapers off. The last song was actually so insulting. The previous one I wasn’t a fan of but this one pissed me off. I liked the song portion of it but then it’s 8 straight minutes of ambiance and the album ends. I can accept if it’s only a minute or two but they wanted it to be majority of this song. What a sour way to end tbh.
This is going to be a hot take but this is my favorite Kanye album. His lyrics are usually my least favorite parts in his music but for 808, production takes the center stage and it’s phenomenal. The songs are catchy and simply loved listening to it.
I like the music at first but the more it kept going, the more repetitive it felt. The notes remain the same for each song. There’s no sense of progression. At least some slight variation would’ve helped. Some songs did not have to be so long and add nothing.
Better and Forever Young are good songs. Everything else is either mid or terrible.
Should’ve at least given a heads up for the 3:30 minutes of silence. I get the intention but it doesn’t work for me. Great album overall though.
One of the most ethereal pieces of media I’ve ever experienced.
