Little bit of a messy rollout, but as Cheap Hotel’s #1 defender, I knew this was gonna be incredible
I need some time to get used to the abrupt outros, but I otherwise love this. Blood Orange is an expert at choosing collaborators that bring his music to another level, like here with Caroline Polachek, Mustafa, and Eva Tolkin. It reminds me of how Negro Swan was tied together super well by the spoken word portions by Janet Mock. The album has a consistent sonic through line that just brings you to London when you listen to it.
I really checked this album out at the perfect time, it'll always feel relevant
