Such an intoxicating record that superbly brings across its themes through the psychedelic production and meaningful vocals. My only complaint is that many of the tracks lack uniqueness and are almost indistinguishable from the others, at some points making ‘Currents’ feel more like an incredible long song song than an album
Arguably Gambino’s best album technically, the production is incredible - soulful, unique and different enough from all the others on the album for each song to have its own identity and individual appeal whilst still fitting with the overall theme of the album. What is so good about this? I guess it’s pretty vibey but that’s about all it has going for it. If Frank’s vocals weren’t so good this wouldnt even be talked about. Doesn’t deserve a top 3 but the best song is Pink + White. Channel Orange clears.
