Y'all mind if a white boy who got a C in Spanish 2 gets down to a lil Reggaeton?
For me to give my thoughts on this album requires a bit of context about me. I played baseball nearly all of my life up until my first couple years here in college when too many arm injuries piled up (plus I was also admittedly just a touch mid). Over that time I have been blessed enough to be able to share the field with guys from Puerto Rico, Mexico, and even Cuba. Bad Bunny (among other Latin artists) ... read more
This is immensely disappointing from Peggy in that despite its namesake it’s not very experimental (or even that good for that matter). The premise of the album takes the sound presented in the opening track to his last album “i scream this in the mirror before i interact with anyone” and runs with it. Except the concept is actually done better on that track than this entire album. While typically par for the course the mixing feels especially abrasive at times which just ... read more
This might be a hot take but I kinda enjoyed this one. It's easily his best work in nearly a decade (which is almost saying nothing). It actually seems like some effort was put in, mostly on the production side, but Drake actually gives some decent performances too. Yeat has been a seemingly unstoppable force rising through the rage/trap scene for *checks notes* 5 years now?! Where did the time go? But following the success of Dangerous Summer the next step was made obviously clear. ADL is next. Which if you haven't been following Yeat (or are surrounded by friends who are Yeat fans like me) has been the project he's ... read more
Dare I have optimism about Kanye in the big 2026?
I went into this with basically no expectations following Vultures and the disasters that happened afterwards on X/Twitter as well as the awful musical releases he put out. The apology was a decent gesture but I didn't really think he'd be able to put out the same level of music he's been able to in the past. But I have to admit that I was more than pleasantly surprised by what this is. It's certainly not Kanye's best ... read more
