A quite incredible 2 hour drone behemoth that makes you feel submerged in an endless raging sea. Highly recommend listening with good quality headphones
Cutthroat as all hell. absolutely in love with this

i don't hate it, i think it's far more interesting than what i've heard on the previous few singles
i do agree that the mixing is pretty terrible and i also feel like the metal parts could've been incorporated into the rest of the song better. it feels like halfway through this song spiritbox realized they're a metal band so they plugged their guitars in just to fit that label
I wholeheartedly believe this album is rated poorly solely because of Radiohead's reputation and the high expectations their listeners have for them. This is a really fun album, and I feel like it'd be rated higher if it didn't have Radiohead's label slapped on it.
Sure, there's not a lot of material but it DELIVERS. I personally love the way they experiment with drum loops and rhythm structures on this album, especially on songs like Bloom and Feral (severely ... read more
it's not something i'd add to my playlist but it's certainly better than what they were doing before, seems like they abandoned their metalcore cliches and came through with an actually intense and interesting track
invent animate and silent planet combine forces to commit music's worst crime - being boring
Edit (85 -> 99):
Yeah this thing is amazing. I recently rediscovered this album and oh my god, there is not a single moment on here where I'm not engaged.
It goes beyond regular metalcore which makes it go hard asf. I also love the melancholy/dreadful feeling throughout the entire length of this thing
yeah, yeah, fake deep, im 14 and this is deep, yada yada yada
still a pretty good song underneath
These extra songs don't add much to the album but continue its sound and vibe fairly well
That being said, this would be in the green if not for Without a Whisper (Reimagined). Wtf is this. Why
highlights: without a whisper 2 electric boogaloo (3/10)
I thought I'd like this album more upon relistening, but it's shrunk on me..
Don't get me wrong, it's very well written and produced, but I feel like it's far less consistent than Trench. While Trench has only like 1 skip, Clancy has about as many hits as skips for me
favs: overcompensate, routines in the night, paladin strait
least favs: the craving, navigating, oldies station
I can't even finish this thing without nearly falling asleep. I cannot fathom the 77 avg rating here, this is some of the most dull and gimmicky metalcore I've heard in a while. It sometimes sounds like it was made specifically for reaction channels. The writing is terrible too, jesus christ
"This is the black, there's no coming back" ๐น๐น๐น๐บ๐บ WAOW SO COOL DUDE!!! I'm 14 and this is deep!
I could only listen to the first 5 songs, my avg rating from those would be a ... read more
Back-to-back insanity. I'm so happy that metalcore can be good in 2024, even despite the cliches of this album. It's so creative.
It's so fucking badass as well. It does a lot of stuff that I would absolutely hate if it was done by other nu-metalcore artists but I love when Diamond Construct does it. It has charm to it, y'know?
favs: hashira, jynx, delirium, i don't, you want that scene shit
least favs: clickbait (3.5/10)
After the success that was Overcompensate I decided to finally listen to this album, and...
OH MY GOOOOODDDDDDD
Yeah this lives up to its hype. I know this isn't a common genre for me to review, however I'm at least somewhat familiar with TOP's stuff as my sister is a huge fan of them (but not this album apparently lol. i asked her)
She recommended I listen to Blurryface instead, and believe me, I tried, but Trench absolutely blows Blurryface out of the water. This shit is phenomenal. ... read more
I guess the idea is cool, it certainly is unique for them, but the execution is terrible. It's like their goal was to distort this song to the point where it is unlistenable
Massive thanks to Kertia for recommending me this album!
This album truly is an experience. The sound of this is perfect. It is absolutely soul crushing in the best way possible. Raw. dreadful. dark. tragic.
At first the vocals threw me off but I've gotten used to them and tbh they fit the instrumentation pretty damn well
I don't think the execution is always perfect but this album as a whole still is phenomenal. The first 4 tracks are some of the best songs I've heard in a while. ... read more
A prime example of "not every metalcore song needs a clean chorus". The heavy parts are incredible but the chorus ruins the song for me
