I am SHOOK by this album, holy CRAP
This is my first experience with glass beach, so I can't say much to their previous work, but this feels like an album that experiments in all the right ways and has so much fun with every style it wants to do. The sheer variety on display here is incredibly impressive, and considering I find most of them to nail their style shockingly well, I'd say their gambit was a success here. The main thing to highlight though is their sheer mastery of making a masterfully impactful chorus with their INCREDIBLE instrumentation, making a record that never once feels exhausting or tiring, and genuinely left me wanting more by the end. An absolute masterclass of variety and chorus/melody creation, even if not every song hits quite as much as it could. My album of the year.
