Having become a Lizzy McAlpine fan through five seconds flat, I was really excited for this album! But I think this album kinda disappoints in a lot of ways, even if it's not *that* different from five seconds flat. The lack of collabs feels like this album has a lot riding on Lizzy keeping things interesting, but so many of the songs follow the same "emotional slow vulnerable" type of song that while I do enjoy, gets a little cliche after a while. Where this album *does* shine is when the vocal style changes up, the production style changes, and it feels like Lizzy gets out of her comfort zone to do something cool. Five seconds flat did this a lot more often than this album did though, so as a result I find that I enjoyed listening to that album a lot more than this one.

Certainly not a bad album by any means, and her singing voice is still quite beautiful. It just has the same problems five seconds flat had, like the abruptly ending songs and feeling like everything is just a bit too short.
