This album is patient, drawn out, and takes its time in every single moment, but I have to say with absolute certainty that I was hooked from start to finish, reeling in the pure atmosphere this album holds. The use of the organ, chanting vocals, and incredible guitar work kinda reminds me of Dune in a lot of ways, with a massively grand scale that almost feels too big for it, but still nails the nonetheless.

The absolute masterclass on this song though is Ugly and Vengeful. Not that anything else on this album is bad (it's not) but this entire album feels like a way to build into Ugly and Vengeful, then build out of it. So considering that Ugly and Vengeful is the focus, it's really good that its one of the greatest songs I've ever heard in my entire life! The way it builds and impacts at every moment, never letting up, and really nailing that grand feeling is truly unlike anything I've ever heard in my entire life. As a climax of the album as a whole, it succeeds with flying colors in every way possible. The album builds into it beautifully as well, with The Mysterious Vanishing of Electra being a distinct other favorite of mine.

There's hardly anything bad to even say about this album. While I don't know if I'll come back to some of the tracks around Ugly and Vengeful a whole lot, Ugly and Vengeful feels like an absolute triumph of music unlike anything I've ever heard. I can't sing enough praises about it, and Anna von Hausswolf just knocks this whole thing out of the park. Unbelievable. I implore you to give this a listen all the way through, you won't regret it.
